One of my professors was a tech writer and I thought about talking to him about that as I prefer writing, even mundane things. Then I remembered that tech writing is also imperiled by AI, probably moreso

I started down a comp sci major because I have connections in software engineering who can help me and vocational rehab pointed me to the IT sector. It was never something I particularly wanting to do.

Three years from my BS. Staring down the barrel of the wild industry I'll be stepping into

I'm totally okay with sending humans back to the moon. But it should absolutely not be rich assholes doing tourist nonsense.

Let's get some footage of sick dune buggy and crater action. Let's get Google street view up there. Let me Cameo an astronaut to hit a golf ball out of orbit
SpaceX shifts focus from something that it will never do on Mars to something it will never do on the Moon.

I like Pokemon, anime and video games so I'm pretty set with many of them

Cultural stasis comes in clutch sometimes

I'm in community college at 35. I was in a class with a white girl clearly named after a Kingdom Hearts character. A dude said he loves Team Fortress 2 Source videos and was born after TF2 first came out

I'm glad I got over my lame "sportsball is dumb" phase. I still have no idea what's going on but it's lovely to watch how much fun everyone is having with it

No matter how hard they try, he's mostly going to be remembered for gen Z and gen alpha being nostalgic for WE ARE CHARLIE KIRK nightcore remixes
February 9, 2026 at 6:29 AM
Yeah maybe he "just" arranged it so they Epstein could do it himself. IDK. Would be neat if we had some mechanism for justice here to find that out

I don't have a ton of exposure, but my general impression of Hasan Piker is that he's very intelligent and well-spoken amongst his peers, but his peers are streamer debate bros so he ultimately has the critical thinking skills and political instincts of microwaved toothpaste

babies are like dogs in being so great for photos bc you can read so much into their expression while whats actually in their head is “hungry” or “wha?”

Last I knew you were in CGI animation. But this could be basically any remote job where you have meetings via Zoom. So I'm going to hedge my bets and guess software engineer

I wonder how much is the ghost of losing the Civil War, too, at least in driving a wedge. You can draw a line directly between the post-Reconstruction Democrats rallying around the ideals of the Confederacy to the Civil Rights era and then to the cultural issues of today

I found a shitposting sub for tornado enthusiasts who are eternally frustrated that the NWS never rates tornadoes at the maximum EF5 intensity and I've been having the time of my life there

not that Minneapolis is even a border state but if you actually send ICE to border cities, they're now tainted, and we'll always know what they can be turned into if we get another rogue president. It all has to be thrown out, and not only for ethical reasons!
February 7, 2026 at 5:00 AM
Yeah the extremely practical reason to disband ICE and rearrange how our border control is structured at a foundational level is that you generally don't want to keep an organization around that has been used as a private paramilitary force by the president to brutalize his own citizens

I don't accept that 69 is just a Gen X or millennial thing. 69 is generation agnostic. 69 is universal

What's bizarre to me is that they're slavishly loyal to people as mediocre and boring as Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton and Kamala Harris
February 6, 2026 at 11:40 AM
The ones going after me the hardest had their real names in their profiles

The one who called me masked like ICE is a mediocre author with unintentionally funny trailers for her books

Nuremberg was sadly not the triumph of justice it's made out to be, but it is nice that Nazis were indeed hanged there
February 6, 2026 at 10:05 AM
Actually most weren't and we kinda stopped after a while to focus on the Cold War

Reconstruction was also more or less abandoned after seven years

Neither the Nazis nor the Confederacy were punished enough, and considering both are ascendant, maybe we should learn a lesson from that
February 6, 2026 at 10:04 AM
That led down a bizarre road where they demanded to know my real name and when I wouldn't give it, I guess saw my username and said "stay masked like ICE then"

The worst of these were multiple liberals dogpiling me because I made fun of Gavin Newsom and balked at the idea of him as nominee three years before the primary
February 6, 2026 at 9:59 AM
I've had so many exhausting conversations here where they say "you should have voted Harris" and I say that I did and told everyone who was ambivalent that they should do so as well

And then they just pivot to how it was still my fault because I wasn't enthusiastic enough about her or something
February 6, 2026 at 9:58 AM
I feel like Trump is more like a symptom of rot that we inflicted upon ourselves twice, whereas Epstein seemed to be ambitiously and intentionally fucking up the world from the shadows before any of his knew his name
