I don't have a ton of exposure, but my general impression of Hasan Piker is that he's very intelligent and well-spoken amongst his peers, but his peers are streamer debate bros so he ultimately has the critical thinking skills and political instincts of microwaved toothpaste

I wonder how much is the ghost of losing the Civil War, too, at least in driving a wedge. You can draw a line directly between the post-Reconstruction Democrats rallying around the ideals of the Confederacy to the Civil Rights era and then to the cultural issues of today

not that Minneapolis is even a border state but if you actually send ICE to border cities, they're now tainted, and we'll always know what they can be turned into if we get another rogue president. It all has to be thrown out, and not only for ethical reasons!

Yeah the extremely practical reason to disband ICE and rearrange how our border control is structured at a foundational level is that you generally don't want to keep an organization around that has been used as a private paramilitary force by the president to brutalize his own citizens

Actually most weren't and we kinda stopped after a while to focus on the Cold War
Reconstruction was also more or less abandoned after seven years

I've had so many exhausting conversations here where they say "you should have voted Harris" and I say that I did and told everyone who was ambivalent that they should do so as well
And then they just pivot to how it was still my fault because I wasn't enthusiastic enough about her or something
