Definitely the same image but that's totally fine for me.

In 2026 I want to, among other things:

-Take a good swing at video content about the things I like or want to do

-Acquire a new skill - work, personal, etc.

I'll be back here on December 31st again.

Pride In My Horrid, Flawed Code Means I May Never Be A "Vibe Coder"
I may Frankenstein my way through a bunch of coding projects and programming, but I'll appreciate every mistake I make.

Part of why I follow the Nana's CookBooks account is for reminders of recipes for things I know I had when I was young but never see around anymore?

Chiffon Pie? And with strawberries? That sounds awesome.
Strawberry Chiffon Pie may sound like a throwback, but I think today it deserves a bit of the spotlight. Sliced berries settled into a tangy gelatin mixture topped with sweet whipped cream. I know if Nana made this for me, I'd be her Valentine. What about you? 🍽️ 🍜 #FoodSky #Cooking #RecipeOfTheDay

There are legitimate concerns about this change despite the specifics, but the unintentionally hilarious side note is the supposed auto analysis of metadata to determine adulthood.

Will adults who chat too many 67 memes or play Roblox all the time might be mistaken for being teens? We will see.

Also, as one of Bluesky's resident optimists/idealists, I appear to see some kind of existential dread about the amount of AI-related ads.

I'll just point out that there was a ton of crypto ads a few Super Bowls back and we see where that's going - so I think we'll come down to earth here, too.

The ideological purity scandal that will come out about Amber is that she is actually a Mono Blue Denial player, but instead of cancelling her for me it will immediately endear me as a fellow Blue villain.

Jokes aside, this is really cool. The Olympics is made for spotlighting stories like Amber's.
Amber Glenn, a queer Texan who started ice skating at the stonebriar mall in frisco at age 5, who plays magic the gathering, is an olympic gold medalist

I admit as an English degree holder I kinda breezed past Vonnegut, but look, I just wasn't familiar with his game.

This is a great quote.

#Dreamcatcher has been locked in on some individual work lately, and seeing members like Gahyun kickstarting their own brands has been fun to see. Check out the latest from one of #kpop 3rd gen's best groups below!

A PS on this one:

If you think nothing that can be done, that the world is doomed, and that there's nothing to do but post about it, stories like this prove you wrong.

Do dollhouses solve the world's problems? No. Does that matter to who benefits? Also no.

Kindnesses, even small ones, matter.

This looks interesting! I always like seeing JRPGs set in non-traditional places, I'll have to check out the demo for sure.
Dosa Divas, a spicy narrative turn-based JRPG, launches on April 14 for PC, PS5, Xbox, Switch, and Switch 2. Demo is now available on Steam: store.steampowered.com/app/2950710/...

I've abandoned the console gaming world with one exception - my Nintendo Switch, which I think is great for taking with me and laying in bed when I'm resting with an RPG. So this is no surprise.

Switch 2 is something I hope to get someday!
With 155.37 million units sold, Nintendo Switch is now officially Nintendo’s best-selling console ever, after overtaking Nintendo DS during the recent holiday sales period.

I'm trying to finish up some games in my backlog currently.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is a game I've struggled to beat since forever, and it has to be the combination of weird auto-attack and overly complex battle system and being like Vincent in Pulp Fiction looking for the next place on the map.

What a wild find by Natalie here.

I know there was a thought in this onion of a thread that the studio's content is an elaborate bit, but as someone who's worked in #gamedev as a side gig for a decade-plus I have seen way too much to not think all of what's on here is posted unironically.
Look I know there's a lot going on right now.....but what in the fresh hell is this

This is a shame on two levels - first, that it was discontinued (I've never been a fan of the orange ones that have somehow stuck around) and secondly, that I never got my hands on some.
Banana-Chocolate Milano (2016-2016): This limited edition Milano cookie variant featured a layer of banana-flavored creme, along with the classic chocolate creme, sandwiched between two crispy, buttery cookies.

Ok, this one made me laugh.

When searching for uplifting #blueskies thread stuff, without fail I find a non-zero amount of people who doom about good things happening as it doesn't solve x bigger problem. It's a horrid attitude.

We can acknowledge more work to be done while also celebrating the little wins that get us closer.
I don't keep doomers in my feed but since apparently some folks do: "celebrate each and every win, loudly" is Organizing 101

It's been fun listening to #Dreamcatcher Siyeon's band (and third!) debut this past week or so, but the rest of the group hasn't been idle either. Check out the latest from the members of one of 3rd gen's best #kpop groups below as per usual thelowkeygeek.com/siyeons-chro...

Hey you, doomscroller. Yeah, I see you dreading every post you read on Bluesky, wondering what awful thing will happen next.

Everyone needs a break from the legitimate concerns of the world. That's what my #blueskies feed is for, as it's a post-a-day for uplifting newsbits and personal enjoyment.
(2026-10/365) THere's lots of rescue stories like this out there, but the fact that this woman never gave up on Cookie until she got to keep him is wonderful. It's great that he's in a forever home where he can be part of a family that cares for him. #blueskies www.youtube.com/watch?v=ouZ1...

You could choose to dread how young people could make such concerning mistakes or laugh at the fact that you too probably made equivalent mistakes, just not on the scale where they could be reported on the internet.

I chose the latter. Man these are wild. www.reddit.com/r/AskReddit/...

This is a good thread and it's part of why I post my #blueskies thread posts.

We should be concerned with the events in the world but not be crushed by them, because there are folks out there doing good out there right now, and they exist around us if you know where to look.
The news was really awful today, and I want to take a moment to offer a counterpoint.

I'm working on a freelance job for the National Association of Social Workers, and today I talked to a social worker from rural parts of New York State.

Only she isn't just a social worker.

I bought Octopath Traveler 0 after a post from @jazzlikestogame.bsky.social reminded me it was out, and I have to say, I miss those old-school JRPGs that let you stumble into the high level area and get annihilated while the game essentially laughs at you. Thanks Octopath.

(2026-1/365) I'm starting the 2026 version of #blueskies - a thread with daily uplifting stories, good things happening in the world, or personal enjoyment, meant to be a break from life's challenges.

Let's start with this dedicated educator of 61 years who inspired many. www.cbc.ca/radio/asitha...
Teacher wins Guinness World Record for working 61 years at the same school | CBC Radio
Retired Tennessee teacher Glenda Akin has lived and worked through a whole lot of history. And now she’s made history herself as the Guinness-certified longest serving teacher at the same school .

-Acquire a new skill - work, personal, etc.

I'll be back here on December 31st again.
January 1, 2026 at 4:56 PM
Both goals achieved. Not quite as far as I'd liked, but life really threw things for a loop this year.

I created my first music video in years, still write regularly about games, kpop, and community management, and I got a bit further with my Korean.

I'll take it and am thankful.
Ok, let's try this again, 2025.

Of my New Year's goals this year I can share publicly:

-Create Content You Love And Which Adds Value

-Make Progress On A Language

Let's see where I'm at on December 31st.
December 31, 2025 at 11:18 PM
And here it is - another year of daily moments of happiness, personal joy, and uplifting stories. Not sure how many folks read, but I'll keep it up.

The world can be tough, but there are good things in it. You just need to look.

Please QRT the thread below and share that reminder with others.
