I mean, I'm happy that the Supreme Court rejected the bid to overturn Obergefell v. Hodges but I don't think that they won't come after it again if it suits them. No one is safe until we all are safe. We still need to stand up for our trans siblings and immigrants and refugees.

It's National Hospice and Palliative Care Month. I got a text from the hospice social worker today that apparently there's been a hold up in the process because they need my middle initial. So now they have that so we shall see where it goes.

For those of you interested (look at me pretending people are interested) I called the social worker and she said we are waiting on HR to get me the background check stuff. But she said she'd give them a nudge. So, things are moving - slowly - but they're moving.
The social worker took my email and said she was going to send me forms to fill out for a background check. But I haven't got them yet. I think I will call her back tomorrow and make sure she has the correct email. Maybe she wrote it down wrong!

For 12 years I lived and worked with adults with developmental disabilities at L'Arche Heartland. This past weekend was their 37th anniversary party and I got to attend as a member of the board. I also got to visit with my friend Ray who I lived with for 5 years. More details in alt text!

I met some spiritual direction classmates for lunch @ a restaurant where they chose to sit us in a small room with a bachelorette party of 10 women who felt the need to shout at each other the entire time. I mean, happy day for you, but I'd love to be able to hear my friend across the table from me.

We have a group of women on retreat this week and after breakfast one of the women said during their prayer time they were going to pray that I got cloned 8 times so they could each take me home with them. Another woman asked me, "Do they [the Sisters] know how lucky they are?"

Got a phone call this afternoon, and it said it was potential spam. I never answer calls I don't recognize (and sometimes not even the ones I do) but for some reason I answered it. It was a social worker from the hospice. They're sending me a form for a background check! Things are moving along!

I have a few tattoos but am pretty sure that none of them could be interpreted as Nazi symbols and the minute that one of them could you can bet your sweet bippy that it would be covered up or removed.

I can't even look at pictures of what he's doing to the White House. I know it's just a building but it seems so symbolic of what he's doing to the United States, to vulnerable people, and humanity in general. It's disgusting & heart-breaking & we should have never allowed him the ability to do it.

For some reason it really bugs me when someone uses "formally" when they should have used "formerly." It really has no affect on the state of the world, but it really rankles me.

It's only 6:32pm. We had a busy couple of days at work, and it's getting darker earlier now, so it feels like it's a lot later and already got me thinking of going to bed.

Today, after going to the local coffee shop to get a cup of coffee to give me strength, I stopped by the office and turned in my form to be a hospice volunteer. I've been discerning this for a while, but today was the day that I decided to actually start the process. We shall see where this goes.
