We've reached the time of year when i'm stoked I don't have to stay at my desk. It was awesome while I was in school! but now I'm not. The desk is boring. My audiobooks aren't working. I need to figure something out for days I'm not pulled for more fun things LOL

ok, so i know it looks bleak out there, especially in the US, but remember to find light and add yours to it when you can. We cannot let our light go out. We *will* overcome.

It's not gonna be easy. It might be like lighting damp wood with no kindling, but we have to try, ok? I care about you.

I started listening to Kill the Farm Boy and now I want to actually use my eyeballs to read it.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s hilarious! And the narrator is pretty close to perfect… But I wonder how much I’m missing by not seeing the words. I need subtitles for this audiobook. #booksky

I realized why I can't get in to When The Moon Hatched on audio...

it's the narrator. I realized this when I connected it to another book i've listened too that I still powered through because I was invested, but i'm not there with this book yet. So on to find another earball book!

Somehow I’ve finished 10 books already. 90% of them were audio 🤣

Currently listening to The Martian. Wil Wheaton is an awesome narrator for it. Also I’m listening at more than double speed, so 10+ hours becomes 5+ hours 🤣

Finishing 2 books in one day? Am I crazy? Nah. Just disassociating from social media.

Me: I’ll do a goal of 55. Sounds like a challenge.
Also me: I wonder if I’ll beat this goal by July, especially when I’m at 8 completed books already 🙄🤣

How am I so far ahead? Because audiobooks and menial tasks. 🤣 💙📚

I looked and looked on my tbr for a book with numbers in the title for my libraries winter reading challenge. The only one there was the one I had pushed pause on. I decided to pick it up again. It’s a struggle for this fiction reader to read nonfiction 😅
January 18, 2026 at 4:59 PM
Book hangovers are so dumb. Like yes, that was an amazing read, but my tbr is still a million miles long! 😭 I have more books I want to read, but the hit just isn’t there. 😢

That’s twice this year I’ve had the book hangover. It sucks. Ok back to finding the right book to bring me back. #booksky 📚💙

They Both Die in the End wrecked me. It was such a good read and I cried so hard.

There’s a wait on the next book from the library so I guess I need to wait to be wrecked by Adam Silvera’s words again. #booksky

The benefit of taking social media off my phone is library audiobooks and crochet occupy my time. Making my kids sweaters for no reason other than I can 😅
January 17, 2026 at 11:57 PM
Oh crap. My book just got real. I hope it doesn’t end the way I think it will. 😬
January 17, 2026 at 11:05 PM
Ok #booksky

Send my your favorite Colorado authors. 😊

Bonus if the book is set in winter or has a food theme (or both!)

“This is about whether we believe human beings created in the image of God deserve basic protections under the law.”

Violence has no place in our faith. Jesus suggested radical pacifism to an oppressed people group. Turning the other cheek was defiance without lifting a finger.

They Both Die in the End is pretty good. I’m about 2/3 through it and while I think I might know where it’s going (I probably don’t!) I’m really enjoying it. It has me thinking a lot. #booksky

I have When The Moon Hatched on my Libby audiobooks, but I’m struggling. I thought I’d try reading it, but still not working. Someone help? #booksky
January 15, 2026 at 6:25 PM
I changed a tire all by myself. This is the truly first time. The last time I changed a tire I had a friend physically with me. Tonight I just called my best friend and said “help?” 12 year old was there as a flashlight/phone holder/soundtrack. I did literally all of it. By myself. I’m proud.

My refusal to leave Daevabad has me listening to River of Silver. But also work is very distracting.
January 12, 2026 at 5:50 PM
Ok #booksky! I need your help! I’m looking for a compelling audiobook with immersive storytelling, preferably fantasy (beyond fae and dragons). Bonus if it’s from an author with ties outside of white heteronormative western culture.
January 11, 2026 at 11:19 PM
Ok… I finished the Daevabad trilogy and now have a book hangover.

Idk what to listen to to disassociate while crocheting now 🤣

So in an effort to be more conscientious on how I spend money, I decided to thrift jeans. I tried them on and they worked well and then today, as I’m digging in my pocket for my keys, I realized how deep these pockets are. In women’s jeans.

I found a unicorn, y’all.

Me: oh I saw this recommended on someone’s post. I should put it on hold.

Library: your hold is ready!

Me: awesome. (Disappears into the eastern hemisphere for three days) ok book two! (Forgets how to work at job for 2 days) ok now for the final book! (Can’t hide from rl responsibilities anymore

Listen, as a kid, I protested the Disney Hercules because of how inaccurate it was. Now I couldn’t care less.

My older kid is doing the same thing for Percy Jackson. 🙄 I guess apple and tree and all that

Random thought: last year in my reading, I found myself drawn more and more into fantasy, especially fantasy inspired by non Western Authors. A favorite read was the Legend of Meneka, the first in an incomplete duology. Now I am reading City of Brass.
