Sometimes history isn’t written by greatness, but by collapse.
Tonight: Brahim Díaz, the walk, the pause, the horror. One of the most embarrassing penalties ever taken, and a whole nation left carrying the damage. Football never forgets moments like that.

I love this article. I love maps. And I love how clearly this shows why Greenland matters.

Shipping routes, minerals, and a key position between the US and Russia. When you look at a map properly, Trump’s obsession suddenly makes a lot more sense.

Trump eyeing up Greenland is definite “1930s throwback”.
Then it was Hitler, maps, arrows & delusions of grandeur.
Now it’s Trump, maps, arrows & the rest.

History doesn’t repeat itself — it rebrands.
Cue the Dad’s Army theme.

Who do you think you are kidding, Mr Trump?

Jonathan Liew absolutely nailed it in the Guardian. Comparing United’s managerial mess to Deliveroo drivers is inspired. And now there’s chat about Ole being back, we might actually be reversing back into it 🚗⚽.

Brilliant stuff.

Remember when the high street meant something?
Debenhams. Dorothy Perkins. Toys R Us. Cath Kidston. Thorntons. Mothercare. BHS. Comet. Blockbuster.
One by one, gone.
Now Claire’s joins the list.
The lights are going out on the UK high street. RIP 💔

Came across this chart of the world’s biggest oil reserves.
Now count how many of these countries the US has had “issues” with.
Drugs. Dictators. WMDs.
Or is the real four-letter word just oil?
January 4, 2026 at 10:22 PM
Trump’s focus on Venezuela is framed as a war on drugs. We’ve heard similar stories before. Different justification, same backdrop — and once again, oil is never far from the picture.

Merry New Year.

Anyone who knows me knows this time of year usually belongs to Nenge Mboko and that legendary shout. Whatever the next year brings, here’s hoping it carries a bit of warmth, a bit of faith, and a bit of hope for us all.

Bring on 2026 ✨

In a season obsessed with gongs and titles, Tressa Burke choosing not to accept an honour feels quietly refreshing. Not everyone wants their name defined by a prefix, and not everyone needs a medal to validate the work they’ve already done.

This is what passes for “global” Test cricket now: a Team of the Year dominated by the big three, who also happen to play the most Tests. Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Windies, Pakistan? Lovely traditions. Limited opportunities. Shrinking relevance.
