That’s a really good piece explaining what set QED apart and highlighting the nature of skepticism in this generation.

Thanks, Hayley!

The conference that proved we can achieve great things has come to an end, but the future of the grassroots skeptic movement is just beginning. #QED

I genuinely cried writing this. #QEDcon will always have a special place in my brain. Thank you @qedcon.org!

When I'm ill, I find I write better. I've written three pieces in the last 24 hours and was smug because I'm not sick hahaha... and now the cough has started.

Spotify just sprung ‘lover, you should’ve come over’ by Jeff Buckley on me.

I’m fine.

Didn’t clock that this was 8% when I bought it. I just like Belgian beer and liked that there was a gnome on the label 🫣

I've moved and my blog is now called The Ghost Geek! For those who missed it on Halloween (apt), this is where I explore the spooky parts of life, culture, and the media through psychology, critical thinking, and decades of solving ghost mysteries as a (boo hiss) skeptic.

In maybe 2008/9, I investigated the haunting of an ancient pub whose cellar could only be reached via a wooden ladder and I swear I walked into this very cobweb down there. I still remember the fresh horror to this day. To. This. Day.
World's biggest spiderweb discovered inside 'Sulfur Cave' with 111,000 arachnids living in pitch black.

I'm going through some things rn but trying to be optimistic and positive. Tonight, I bought a Lucky Dip for the National Lottery, and my numbers included: 01, 43, and 48 (and others)

The numbers drawn were 02, 03, 42, 45, 46, 47 and bonus was 44.

The universe can, frankly, fuck right off.

Someone just showed me a Doctor Who meme that said ‘if a silence looks away from a weeping angel, does the angel move closer or forget the encounter?’ and I need a Doctor Who nerd to tell me the answer or I’m not going to be able to sleep tonight.

Today I have woken up and remembered that I have:

1. A pair of walking boots
2. Legs that work

and:

3. The Kennet and Avon Canal is right on my doorstep
4. I used to love walking it for hours and hours and hours…

I think I’m going to do more of that. For my brain and stuff.

Ive never been slow to criticise the Reach plc media for their awful clickbait headlines. But this is another level. They know exactly what they're doing with this headline, and it is horrible, divisive and dangerous. Shame on them.
