Trump’s tariffs are driving up prices for us, while driving down demand for U.S. exports in Canada and Mexico.

This why you don’t trust your country’s economic policies to someone who bankrupted 5 casinos.

In 2019, when Trump wanted John Ratcliffe as his head of National Intelligence, Democrats called him shockingly unqualified, noting his only qualification was loyalty to Trump. Trump had to pull the nomination and do a recess appointment.

Today, only 25 Dems voted against him for head of the CIA.

Unexpected consequence of moving into an office that has a window facing into an open area in the building: no more dancing in my chair without being observed by random passers-by.

Happy birthday to one of the great unknown Americans, Oveta Culp Hobby, the commander of the Women's Army Corps during World War II and the first secretary of the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare under President Dwight Eisenhower.

I don't understand why people sleep on Muppets From Space. I mean, we can even set aside Pepe the King Prawn ("I have some loose jello, okay"), the Door In A Jar ("Great - somebody knock and see if Barbie's home"), and the Gonzo hear made out of mashed potatoes. Just look at the cast list:

I'll never forget World Cup 2010 - I loved it so much, I thought, "I hope I'm alive for the next World Cup in 2014!" Then I thought, "Oh my gosh - I just HOPED TO BE ALIVE!"

A pretty amazing realization to have after a decade of hoping I'd just die.

Life changes, indeed. Hang in there.
seven years ago I was afraid to get in my car to run simple errands because I feared I wouldn't be able to stop myself from driving off a bridge and today, looking at the life I've had the privilege to build, I feel like I might be the luckiest girl in the world. idk, just sharing. life changes.

Amanda ran the Ooredoo half-marathon this morning (with shingles!).

I participated in my own physical challenge being out of bed at 8am on a weekend to go cheer her on.

We're lucky to live in a place where festive events, cool parks, & cherished breakfast spots are all within a few blocks of home.

Hegseth: We have allies in South Korea, Japan, and Australia.

Duckworth: None of those countries are in ASEAN.

Threats as politics

As long as people believe the threats MAY come true, those threats have power.

It's how southern congressmen protected slavery in Congress for decades. People were afraid for their lives if they opposed it.

We're watching this in action now.
A politics of threats and violence.
From Jane Mayer
*As late as 2023, someone meeting with Hegseth reported him knocking back three gin and tonics. At 10am.

Gov. Kristi Noem, President-elect Trump's pick to lead the Homeland Security Department, chose not to deploy South Dakota's National Guard after historic flooding there last year. The move shocked residents after her earlier decisions to spend millions to send troops to the U.S.-Mexico border.

Trump could easily stay quiet on these fires until he is President, but he is so weak he needs a villan and needs to be the victim.

Never have I seen a whinier child in my life.
