Finally got around to watching "All the Empty Rooms" on Netflix...the short (35 min) documentary about Steve Hartman's and Lou Bopp's 7-year project to photograph every bedroom of every child killed in a school shooting. It's like a cattle prod to the heart! π

Watching the unflinching determination of Minneapolis resisters this past week, it reminded me of this old Tumblr post about the RMS Carpathia's response to the Titanic sinking. When things seem futile, I like to give this a reread to remind me that we're far more capable than we realize.

If there's a more poignant social critique of the current state of western Democracy than this new release from Ren, I've yet to see it!! I'm by no means a huge fan of rap, but this is so on point and poetic. It's a 10-minute watch (turn CC on). Oh, and Act III is breath-takingly heart-wrenching. π

If there's a more poignant social critique of the current state of western Democracy than this new release from Ren, I've yet to see it!! I'm by no means a huge fan of rap, but this is so on point and poetic. It's a 10-minute watch (turn CC on). Oh, and Act III is breath-takingly heart-wrenching. π
To be fair, however, why should they be the ones to have to clean up our mess? If grandpa is throwing around lamps and trashing your house, it shouldn't be your neighbor's job to stop him. It's up to you to restrain him and put him in a home.
