Been occupied and offline a bit recently, but needed to share this beauty. #Baking

Do you need an editor asap? I've had a project moved at the last minute and so I have one slot available!
Contact me via email so we can see what you and your book need.
(I specialise in Fantasy and Science Fiction, but also work on all Speculative Fiction subgenres. 13 years' industry experience.)

Forgot to add #FreelanceFriends. Also, if you have resumes saved from past applications, they may be included.
Quick FYI: As of Nov. 3, LI will be officially using profiles, posts, comments, etc. to train their generative AI. Apparently also sharing data with Microsoft and affiliated companies. You can opt out in your settings, and supposedly your DMs will not be used.

Being a grown-up lacks a proper reward system.
My morning: Got a flu shot. Our library system is running a sock drive. Managed to donate socks AND not buy books at the book sale (first time for everything)!
No one clapped. Didn’t even get a sticker.

I got to spend last week getting lost in nature. The return to screens is making me extra grumpy this morning. To coffee! #AmEditing

Lovely seeing all of you! Until next time, Good Trouble, signing off (going to try and make this a thing 😜). #FreelanceFriends

Q1 (and only!): And 2-learning that I should incorporate the administrative side of things into my billing/pricing structure. That changed everything. #FreelanceFriends (2/2)

Q1 (and only!): The two biggest for me were 1-learning to say no (I do my best work when I can tunnel into something and give it my everything, not when I’m juggling multiple deadlines and afraid to not accept everything that comes my way). #FreelanceFriends (1/2)

Strong match: my foot and their behind. So very grateful to be working. I haven't used the site that emailed this to me in many, many years. Definitely not an active profile. Be kind to those seeking work; this is what they’re seeing. #Editor #FreelanceFriends

As requested, #FreelanceFriends These are insanely good. And named by people who wouldn’t stop eating them 😊.
Projects submitted to new client. I can’t go burn off the nervous energy as I await feedback, so I made Evil Genius Rice Krispie Treats: Rice Krispies, marshmallows, peanut butter, drizzle of honey, and rough chopped salted peanuts.

I’m late, but I’m here! Consulting editor reporting in from Central NJ. In the midst of several projects and struggling to engage the part of my brain that posts on social media. Pleased to report I have grown tomatoes for the first time in my life! #FreelanceFriends

Why do people yell while hiking? You wouldn’t open the door to someone’s house and scream in. Why do it when out in such beautiful scenery (that is decidedly not your living room)? Anyway…morning view from a favorite hiking spot.

#FreelanceFriends, missing tomorrow, so I present my delicious/ugly baking accident: Cinnamon Blob Bread. When your dough is too elastic, you can’t do repeated wait and rises, and you have to get back to work. Throw your cinnamon roll log into a greased 9x13 (ends cut to fit), and bake!

Still sort of here (?). Having all sorts of app problems. May have to just accept it and try to catch up later. #FreelanceFriends

I have to run (need to look proper for an upcoming Zoom 😇), but wishing all of you a happy, peaceful August filled with rewarding work, or rest, or vacations…you get the idea. Talk soon! #FreelanceFriends

Also, I have space for a few more author coaching clients, should that be helpful to anyone. DMs are open if you have questions.
One of my author coaching clients is juggling so many things right now, and it's a good reminder that a huge part of getting any big thing done is project management—and that can be especially true of writing a book. Finding slivers of time isn't always easy, but we have to, right?

I am the proud owner of a running shirt that shows what the inside of my brain looks like! Worth sharing.

Closed my laptop this afternoon and went for a long walk. So heartened to see that someone had stocked the local LFLs with YA and middle grade novels in great condition! Looks like I’m not the only book fairy in town.

Attention people of the world: If I can smell you before you reach me, or long after you leave, YOU’RE WEARING TOO MUCH FRAGRANCE!
That is all.

Troubleshooting a printer:
Threaten it with harm.
Look up the specific printer model and error.
Push through the update from months ago that you ignored.
Follow directions. Say please.
Print successfully.
Look around as if you just invented Greek fire and wonder why no one has clapped.
