Last week, DHS and Secretary Noem's staff and spokespeople suggested that because Mr. Abrego Garcia had $1,100 in cash on him when arrested outside Home Depot seeking day labor, that was strong evidence that he was a member of MS-13.

As someone who spends a lot time thinking about the values I want to teach my kid (besides PLEASE DON’T EAT DIRT), the thing I keep coming back to is this: I want him to believe that the strongest, bravest thing he can do is give a shit about other people—especially ones who aren’t like him at all.

abundance is awesome and i support it, but presuming abundance will overwhelm distributional concerns is a bet we’ve already taken that works out poorly, both from an abundance and distributional perspective.

I do believe that Bernie was an excellent choice in 2016. The people wanted a populist, not a policy wonk. Hillary was qualified, no doubt. But the people wanted something more relatable. And really, the bottom line is INCOME and WEALTH INEQUALITY.
