Just wanted to share this item from my Etsy shop because it's such an unusual and memorable design.
This handmade ceramic creation is both useful and visually striking. With its unique rustic presence, it works beautifully as a napkin holder or holder for letters or stationery. Available now in my Etsy shop! tinyurl.com/2m38heru

"I had a lot of resentment for a while toward Kim Novak. But I don't mind her anymore. She's okay. We've become friends."

Celebrating the legendary Kim Novak, who turns 93 today! Loved her best in Middle of the Night, Picnic, Pushover, and The Man With the Golden Arm.

Celebrating "the movie star," Tina Louise, who turns 92 today! Loved her in Gilligan's Island, of course, but also in films like Day of the Outlaw (1959), The Hangman (1959), and The Stepford Wives (1975).

Remembering Dame Judith Anderson, born in Australia on today's date in 1897. She was always outstanding; some of my favorite Anderson performances were in Blood Money, Rebecca, Laura, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, The Strange Love of Martha Ivers, The Ten Commandments, and The Red House.

Tune into @tcmtv.bsky.social Monday evening for Broken Lullaby, starring Nancy Carroll, Phillips Holmes, and Lionel Barrymore. It's a rare dramatic feature from Ernst Lubitsch and it's a must-see. bit.ly/4qunOeO

Back in the day, keeping time also meant good design. This clock still feels timeless to me.

Remembering Brian Donlevy and James Murray, both #botd in 1901. I liked Donlevy best in The Big Combo; I know Murray from the 1928 silent, The Crowd. Sadly, Murray's life took a wildly different turn than Donlevy's. More on Murray at the Travalanche blog: tinyurl.com/42xyc86d #filmsky

Remembering Ronald Colman, born in England on today's date in 1891. I know him best from A Double Life, Lost Horizon, The Talk of the Town, and my mother's all-time favorite movie, Random Harvest. Do you have a favorite?

Kim Hunter starred on THE ALFRED HITCHCOCK HOUR #OTD in 1964

I love her darker roles, and Hunter is deliciously vile here as a phony psychic who grifts parents of dead soldiers.

Directed by László Benedek (THE WILD ONE) w/ a sharp script by Hunter’s fellow Blacklist survivor Arthur A. Ross. #TVSky

Remembering Betty Field, born on today's date in 1913 (or 1916). She was a superb actress, memorable no matter the size of the role. Some of my favorite Field performances were in Kings Row, Of Mice and Men, The Southerner, Picnic, and Peyton Place. She died in 1973.

Remembering Orson Bean, who died on today's date in 2020 at the age of 91 after being hit by a car. He had been married since 1993 to actress Alley Mills. I remember him best from his many game show appearances and as Mr. Bevis in an episode of The Twilight Zone.

I couldn't let the day pass without remembering Eddie Bracken, #botd in 1915. Some of his most popular films include The Miracle at Morgan's Creek and Hail the Conquering Hero, but I love him best in the little-known Young and Willing. Check it out on YouTube! tinyurl.com/jt93fdut
