If, somehow, Martin O’Neil wins a league in which:

Celtic lose a minimum of six games - none under him (so far)

He can’t spend a single penny in transfer fees

He has four key players out for the season

He has no Green Brigade support

Then honestly, they should have his statue up before Flag Day

McInnes deserves everything they got tonight for hooking Kyziridis

Seemed a nonsense, cowardly decision to me

Reverted (even more so) to “lump-it” tactics, just horrible stuff

Horrible football team

Yass

Fucking up ye, Derek

I would rather have any other team in the country playing Hearts in this scenario instead of St Mirrin
February 3, 2026 at 9:25 PM
Pardon the pun, but Hearts must be the jammiest team in European football this season

Feels like they ride their luck every game I watch them

With Evan Mooney and James Wilson moving to Tottenham and Arsenal respectively, I wondered:

Who was the last under-21 Scottish player Celtic bought from within Scotland?

Well, technically it’s Ryan Christie in 2015 - but he didn’t join till the following year

Before that?

Simon Donnelly. 1993

Slightly less defeatist than I was after last night

Don’t get me wrong. Massive, massive problems at the club and a hugely underwhelming window

BUT

Araujo and Čvančara look serviceable at least, and other new boys might be… fine?

So, let’s see how it goes. All to play for, and we concede nothing
February 3, 2026 at 4:31 PM
Bed 🛏️

Trying not to be too down about it, but feels very underwhelming

I don’t think anyone could compare the windows of the three league contenders and say that ours looks the strongest

AOC would be interesting, but he hasn’t kicked a ball in nearly a year

Hopefully I’m wrong. As usual ☘️

Jesus, we’re doing it again

Genuinely can’t believe it
February 2, 2026 at 9:45 PM
The Arthur deal is weird too

He can’t be registered for Europe (or at least almost certainly won’t be, given the other signings we need to register)

So we’re swapping one centre-half (Welsh) from the Home Grown quota, for a replacement on-loan who can’t be registered?

Where’s the sense in that?!

The disappointment with the Engels deal was, apparently, one of the main drivers behind Dermot Desmond ending our brief “big-spending” model and reverting back to cheap and cheerful punts under Tisdale

How beautifully ironic, then, that we’re unable to allow him to become a national record transfer
February 2, 2026 at 5:02 PM
I get angrier every day at this moronic excuse for a board

Engles, bought for £11m and sold for £25m is perfect

Works for us, works for the player, works for agents looking to send young players to us in future

And we’ve totally fucked it up

Can’t afford to lose him due to our woeful inadequacy
February 2, 2026 at 4:54 PM
£25m for Engels rejected

Jesus
February 2, 2026 at 4:46 PM
The question for supporters shouldn’t be:

Should Celtic be selling Arne Engels for £17m?

It should be:

Should Celtic be losing Arne Engels simply to have another meaningless pile of cash sitting in an untouchable bank account?

The fee is irrelevant if it’s not reinvested, and we know it won’t be

Honestly, for the life of me, I cannot see what we are doing if we’re bringing in Joel Mvuka

Doesn’t have anything remotely close to the kind of pedigree you’d associate with a player signing for Celtic

Had a distinctly middling career (at best) to this point

What on earth has earned him a move?
February 1, 2026 at 10:49 PM
Young players, unfortunately, mostly come to Celtic because they believe it to be a step towards joining a club in the top five leagues

The minute we start becoming an obstacle to that, we limit massively the quality we can attract

Same problem as Maeda though: too badly prepared to let Engels go
February 1, 2026 at 6:13 PM
Always prepared to give new players a chance

But the players we’ve been heavily linked with today look incredibly uninspiring

Mvuka in particular looks astonishingly average

Adamu not much better, albeit slightly better pedigree

Hoping this is just paper-talk. These players won’t move the needle
February 1, 2026 at 11:44 AM
That’s never a red card in a million years

Shocking decision
January 31, 2026 at 8:23 PM
Just me, or does Hearts’ attack look much more dangerous with Devlin and Shankland out the team?
January 31, 2026 at 8:16 PM
Fuck Ronny Deila

That puts an end to any cult status he might have enjoyed among the support in the last few years
January 31, 2026 at 6:05 PM
Rangers have spent €40m this season and will, in all likelihood, add to that

Celtic have spent €14m

In the Scottish Premiership, Rangers have the lowest balance of income/expenditure on transfers. Hearts are second lowest

We have the highest

There is no requirement to be so frugal. It’s madness
January 31, 2026 at 10:55 AM
John McGlynn:

“There is no Green Brigade and that helps us. That helps a lot.

So hopefully, we can turn the crowd and get the atmosphere turning a little bit toxic and try to win the game.”

Why are we like this?
January 31, 2026 at 10:39 AM
I know we’ll probably sign someone in the next few days

It’s almost impossible to countenance the idea that we won’t

But what slightly frightens me is…

…that’s also exactly what I thought in August
January 30, 2026 at 10:35 PM
🇩🇪 Stuttgart looks a difficult tie. Would have far rather played Ferencvaros

But, great city for away support

European progress seems so unlikely to me that it’s hard to garner any real excitement about it, but stranger things have happened

We wouldn’t be the first pish team to reach latter stages
