I train barristers at Liverpool & Manchester. Bar Course Programme Team member at University of Law. Nine Chambers (formerly 9 St John Street). Views not my employer’s, maybe not even mine. Caveats and lemon meringue pie.
Many congratulations to the #BPC students from my Manchester and Liverpool campuses of the University of Law who learned last week you had passed your assessments! We are very proud of you. It's great that I am able to share here some of the positive feedback you have given us. Thank you.

Trump can’t run again. It’s very simple. If he does it’ll be struck down by the Supreme Court. If they don’t there won’t be much left of the US constitutional order.

In addition, he’ll likely be too old and too unpopular to run in 2028 even if he were constitutionally able.

@waterstones.bsky.social: a big up to your excellent staff at Manchester Deansgate. Asked me if I’d made a special trip there, I said all trips to Waterstones are special - then a shared nod and smile, we know it to be true.

I applaud the BBC Radio for creating the digital channel Radio 3 Unwind. I just wish it didn’t play relentlessly miserable music.

Yesterday morning I was pleased to have an opportunity to speak with students about the University of Law’s #BPC and how to get ready for a career as a barrister.

Also there was a criminal litigation taster session on hearsay evidence - a tough concept to get to grips with, but rewarding!

I’m going to object to the lawyers’ use of the word ‘historical’ here. Was there misconduct - this is the only question. Describing the timeframe in this manner does not assist.
