Hot take, online dnd can be just as fun as in person. I just think a lot of dm’s don’t do enough to shake up the experience and make it dynamic.

I have not and will not EVER let my players or anyone associated with my campaigns use generative AI for anything. Whether it be character art, backstory, anything. I am super anti-AI and I just can’t stand it being used for stuff thats supposed to be your job to create.

Look, I’m all about DnD campaigns allowing player agency and shit. But aside from the obvious stuff you dont let your players do cus it’s just bad taste? There’s other shit I see dm’s let their players do and I’m just appalled at what some people let happen.

Tbh, I think the 2024 content for DnD would not be so stigmatized if it wasnt for the fucking bullshit Wizards and Hasbro have been up to. Because content wise, minus a few dinks, I love the 2024 content. Especially the new DMG

Cyberpunk has been probably one of the cheapest investments I’ve ever made in ttrpg’s. I got nearly every pdf out right now for about $80 minus a few bonus books that I’ll swing back and grab.

Cyberpunk has kinda steered me in the direction of running a more seriously toned game. I love the softhearted nature of my DnD games but I really wanna do more dark topics in Cyberpunk. Of course within the bounds of comfort

I wanna try getting into drawing again. It’s really fucking hard seeing how good I am in other art forms vs how bad I am in another though. Really stumps me.

Leaning Cyberpunk Red has been a lot of fun in the past like two nights. I love DnD but I really like the grounded nature of this game. Especially the high speed combat. Seems like your average combat only lasts a few rounds.

Big hot take in the TTRPG crowd. I don’t believe in banning class features, spells, feats, or anything like that. IMO it’s YOUR job to figure out how to counter something your players do. If it’s disruptive, thats one thing. But banning something completely is pretty weak ngl. Strong stance here.

I think Dungeons and Dragons has sorta ruined my interest in video games outside of a select few releases.
I used to play games day in and day out but now I hardly pick up a controller and instead brainstorm my next story arc or campaign idea.
Games just don’t scratch that itch like they used to.

It’s so weird in Dungeons and Dragons how there still isn’t a canine race after all these years. I know Kobolds SORTA were a little bit, but it’s so weird we have a cat, bird, turtle, lizard, and monkey but still no dog.

Running a Halloween one-shot in DnD has gotten me interested in writing a horror story themed around a fantasy setting. I feel like fantasy is an inherently comedic setting, but there is also SO MUCH potential in it for horror. Especially with monsters like aberrations or monstrosities.

Huge hot take, I despise streamlined TTRPG’s. I’m not one who likes how complicated pathfinder is or 3.5 is. But TTRPG’s that can be ran in like 45 minutes suck all the fun out of it for me. I love the 4 hours of roleplay and such. I know you CAN do that with those games. But it’s not built for it.
