Not my favourite aurora shot but the only one I have to hand that I've not already posted on here. Two second exposure (at f1.8) and some of the highlights are still blown! Far from perfect but I think this qualifies as a dramatic sky 🙂 #AlphabetChallenge #WeekDforDramatic

A Ferris wheel in Albert Square Manchester
A photo of a large white ferris wheel in Albert Square Manchester. In the foreground is a statue of Prince Albert that has a gothic arched surround. It was early evening in December and everything was lit up with bright lights and was a contrast against the dark blue sky. The Ferris wheel was named after Geirge Washington Gale Ferris who made the first example in 1893. Albert Square is obviously named after Prince Albert, Queen Victoria's husband and consort.

Oh, shoot! Got so caught up in the Olympics Opening Ceremony I forgot about the #AlphabetChallenge #WeekEforEponymous until just now. Here's a quick one that kind of meets it. Kinnaird Head Lighthouse built into the remains of Fraserburgh Castle, named for Alexander Fraser, 8th Laird of Philorth.
