A merger, observed with the Hubble Space Telescope in the COSMOS survey.

It is at redshift 0.38 (lookback time 4.26 billion years) with coordinates (150.20936, 1.79158).

Autumn Comet!

Comet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan–ATLAS) tonight, southwest of
Bloomington, IN. 🔭🧪

This stacks 34 x 8" (about 4.5 min total) on a crappy Nikon 55mm f/5.6 lens at ISO 1600. Some photoshop to clean up and accentuate the fall colors and increase contrast to see the *very* long tail.
