Regarding the Bucks' "risky" attempt to keep Giannis, I don't think people realize how much money Giannis brings into Milwaukee. He's a one-man boost to their economy.

From my next novel:
“First time I saw you, you had taken a nasty hit on the head. Second time, you had an arrow in your leg. Now, you’re eating poisonous berries.” Astor gagged and spit the berries out of his mouth.

Or to put it another way: I'm Juliette Nichols in Silo 17. Just trying to survive. And my novel-in-progress is Solo. This temperamental, juvenile, somewhat helpful Steve Zahn dude, and I'm not sure if they're lying to me or even safe.

Writing a novel can be a lonely business. Sometimes, not always, but definitely at certain stages. (This is coming from someone who writes best in busy, public spaces. I need people around me.) Right now, I'm at the loneliest stage. I feel it.

I finished reading Shakespeare's Venus and Adonis. I know it was wildly popular during his lifetime, but it feels like Ovid fan fiction. Synopsis: Boy does not want love goddess. He wants to hunt boar. Boar kills boy. Love goddess is mad and ruins love for everyone else.

Finally got started on Silo Season 2. That first episode was so great. I love how they used silence and phantom noises as a form of dialogue.

My next novel is 32% finished. For me, this is the worst place to be. The "new project" energy is gone. I'm far from completion with nothing to announce. All my confidence has been depleted. I just need to keep working and hope that what I have is a novel.
