Optimistic realist. Humanity gets twisted into evil shapes by trauma, but we can recover, be better, & extend our recovery to others & the planet.

From Daniel Deronda by George Eliot - a very apt quote for today's political landscape!:
"It is a common sentence that Knowledge is power; but who hath duly considered or set forth the power of Ignorance? Knowledge slowly builds up what Ignorance in an hour pulls down."

This is so embarrassing.

The cartel drones Pam Bondi was sounding the alarm about during the hearing turned out to be… party balloons.

This administration is so incompetent.

Please remember that the famine in Sudan is a manufactured crisis. Sudan's agricultural land is being used to grow food & farm livestock - it's just being taken to feed people elsewhere. Foreign proxies steal our land & resources while they let our people starve.

While I agree w all the practical and political objections to the SAVE Act, I actually believe those are secondary and miss the primary objection:
There is NO EVIDENCE of non-citizens voting in federal elections: 77-85 cases between 1999-2023.
There is NEITHER NEED nor JUSTIFICATION for a law

The SAVE act is inherently unconstitutional because the bill would require voters to prove citizenship via birth certificate or passport.

Both a passport and a birth certificate cost money to procure.

This constitutes a poll tax which is explicitly prohibited by the 24th amendment.

I don't understand why any loyal Democrat would vote in favor of the SAVE act, which is a blatant attempt to undermine the mid-term elections.

Explanations are in order.
