Optimistic realist. Humanity gets twisted into evil shapes by trauma, but we can recover, be better, & extend our recovery to others & the planet.

From Daniel Deronda by George Eliot - a very apt quote for today's political landscape!:
"It is a common sentence that Knowledge is power; but who hath duly considered or set forth the power of Ignorance? Knowledge slowly builds up what Ignorance in an hour pulls down."

Listen Kaine, Hassan, King, Cortez-Masto, Durbin, Shaheen, Rosen, and Fetterman. You're NOT gonna take away my 2025 election joy. We voted in that election for folks to FIGHT for us. That doesn't include YOU.

YOU are what we voted AGAINST last Tuesday. So I'm gonna hang on to that.

In the century leading up to 1975, nearly 6000 freighters went down in the Great Lakes.

The Edmund Fitzgerald was the last.

The last. In 50 years, not a single commercial freighter has been lost in the Great Lakes.

Why?

It's NOAA. Of course it's NOAA.

We can’t wait for that. Schumer needs to step down now. We are out of time. Everyone call your senators AND your house reps and let them know how you feel about this vote and that Schumer needs to step down immediately. We need to apply the pressure loudly and relentlessly.

Yes. There is something to that. The message they took was centrism wins. Wrong lesson. Strength wins. They just lost the midterms. Why start a fight if you won’t finish it? Some like Angus King have voted against any shutdowns ever. Some like Kaine are straws in the wind.

I am out as a registered Dem. I am no longer interested, having been registered as a Dem since 1979 and never missing an election.

To lose someone like me, you've seriously effed up.

But will they take note? Doubtful.

Part of me thinks this is a response to Mamdani being elected.

For 9 in 10 days so far this year, we were 100% powered for some part of the day by clean energy.
