Is election interference an official duty of the POSOTUS? "you really have no choice" coupled with his threat to withhold funding sounds like he is threatening New York City's right to choose its representation. Is he really from there? I've seen no proof.

Once the current occupants flee for their lives with their spoils, I think the surest death-knell for your country would be if it lets them go. The continuation of your country will depend on finding them, dragging them back, and holding them accountable before flinging them penniless into exile.

A suggestion to avoid shutdowns when you write a new constitution after the fascism is dealt with: There is no lapse in funding. If you can't negotiate a new budget level, the old one stays in place and there is automatically a new election for... let's say the 5 most senior people in both parties.
