Dear Millennials and older generations: stop assuming y'all have a monopoly on experiencing pain and joint issues and say that Gen Z can't because "we're too young".

'The Life of a Showgirl' track is literally just 'Cool' by the Jonas Brothers 💀 I just saw them in concert and obsessively listen to their music, I've heard TLOAS before

I was born with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (which back then was juvenile rheumatoid arthritis). I was sick a lot as a kid and missed a lot of school days.

This policy is ableist AF and cruel to chronically ill and disabled kids.
USA: A school district in Tennessee said doctor’s notes will no longer excuse a child’s absence.

"The policy states that after just 3 absences, schools will start intervention. If the student misses school for 8 or more days, they will be referred to juvenile court."

What are examples of injuries that could result in permanent physical disability, but someone would still be able to walk with a cane, albeit with some difficulty and chronic pain? So unable to walk unassisted, but able to walk assisted. With a symptom that might also include the knee buckling? (1/4

Really hoping that "cracking your bones gives you arthritis" ends up being an old wives tale

Movies from the year I was born.

I'm not old, but the arthritis in my joints is telling me otherwise.

Sometimes I feel really out of place when talking about arthritis online. Mostly because I see a lot of comments talking about age and "getting older". And I'm just sitting here at 21, almost 22, with my 21+ years of experience and arthritis damage 💀 (1/2)

"They're at that age where they can have arthritis."
You can be any age and have arthritis 😐 Albeit rare, even children can get osteoarthritis.
And children can definitely get autoimmune arthritis. An estimated 300,000 children and teens have arthritis in the USA alone. (1/2)

Nearly all individuals with high iron will experience some degree of joint, muscle, or body pain at some point if their levels aren’t well controlled.

My response: ¿Porque no los dos? (Why not both?) 🤣🤣

Happy Rare Disease Day to my fellow zebras and unicorns! 🦓🦄

What rare disease(s) do you have?

I have 3 rare disease diagnoses. RF negative, ANA positive polyarticular juvenile idiopathic arthritis, mild infantile thoracolumbar levoscoliosis, and possibly spinal muscular atrophy.

If you are in any of the 17 states included in Texas v. Becerra and you haven't already, please reach out to your Attorney General and ask them to drop out of the lawsuit. This case goes to court on Tuesday, February 25, so the days keep ticking down.

I'm really hopeful for physical therapy. For the first time in almost a year, a healthcare professional didn't gaslight me by telling me that my arm is straight. Brought it up to my physical therapist after forgetting about it and mentioned that every doctor I've brought it up to says it's straight.

I'm having physical therapy for the first time ever on Monday. I'm kind of nervous. I've never had physical therapy before, so I have no idea what to expect or how it'll even go. Here's hoping it goes well though because I'm going to be going for about 10 months, seemingly, if my math is right.

I was technically diagnosed with SMA by my neurologist yesterday. Supposedly, I don't have the gene. But I meet the criteria. According to him, I'm an outlier 💀 He wants me to see a neuromuscular specialist, the closest of which is about 4 hours away. He also said to eat a high protein diet. (1/4)

In 12 hours, I get to find out the results of the genetic test I had done in August for SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy).
I'm really nervous about the results.
And I'm very conflicted because I'm not sure what news I want to hear.
