Just finished my taxes! I’m a little disappointed that I had to pay a small amount to the federal government. Not thrilled to be forced to pay for a facist oligarchy. In good news, my NY refund is great!

According to a new report, doctors in abortion ban states described hospital lawyers who:

•“Refused to meet” with them for months.
•Were hard to reach during “life or death” situations.

I have been thinking a lot about the concept of “enough” lately. I know what it is. Enough is what you need to live on comfortably with housing, food and basic needs/medical met until the end of your days.

Enough is something every American could have if we just taxed billionaires like we used to.
I've shared this quote before but I'll share it again, as it's one I've been thinking about a lot as I've watched how our oligarchs have been behaving over the past few months.

“Don’t feed the trolls” also extends to bad opinion pieces in papers of record.

They run them bc people react to them the most.

If we stop linking to bad columns and instead post thinkers we find valuable (& generate convo around it), incentives change.

It’s not easy and takes constant practice!

House panel was told Gaetz paid two women $10,000, in part for sex. NO WONDER TRUMP WANTS HIM AS AG - TRUMP HAD TO PAY STORMY DANIELS $130,000 FOR THE SAME THING AND KNOWS A BARGAIN WHEN HE SEES ONE.

New generations waking up to fury and grief is how we move forward and extend centuries worth of (often circular, often maddening, often unsuccessful) work to make this country a more just and equitable place for more of the people who live in it.
Naomi Beinart, 16: "We girls woke up to a country that would rather elect a man found liable for sexual abuse than a woman...Where the body I haven’t fully grown into may no longer be under my control. The boys, it seemed to me, just woke up on a Wednesday."
Opinion | I’m 16. On Nov. 5 the Girls Cried, and the Boys Played Minecraft.
On the day after the election, it seemed boys and girls woke to a new reality.

When I was a student in France, I took a course on French history during WWII.

Today, I went looking for it again.

This piece from the Library of Congress on the history of the French resistance offers many lessons (and also a lot of resonance to where we are).
