Metro studying a potential future rail line to serve Eagle Rock

LA Metro has started a feasibility study of implementing rail between North Hollywood and Pasadena. Expected to be done in 2026. Documents from bidders that competed on study contract show some initial analysis. They may consider routes that don’t always match planned BRT route.

Local Health Emergency Declared Due to Critical Fire Events and Windstorm Conditions Health Officer Issues Order Prohibiting Use of Power Air Blowers, Including Leaf Blowers, to Reduce Health Risks from Fire Ash and Smoke Public Health has declared a Local Health Emergency. and issued a Public Health Officer Order in response to the widespread impacts of the ongoing multiple critical fire events and windstorm conditions. The fire events have caused significant health and safety risks for residents across the county. TO HELP PROTECT THE HEALTH AND WELLBEING OF RESIDENTS, THE USE OF POWER AIR BLOWERS, INCLUDING LEAF BLOWERS, IS PROHIBITED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. These devices stir up ash and particulate matter into the air, further worsening air quality and increasing health risks for everyone and their pets, particularly for those with respiratory conditions, older adults, children, and other vulnerable populations. The order applies to all areas of Los Angeles County due to the widespread presence of ash and particulate matter in the air throughout the entire region. A DAY FOR OUR COMMUNITY WHEN WE NEED IT MOST WITH BOB BAKER MARIONETTE THEATER Image item MON, JANUARY 13 1:30-6:30pm Vidiots and Bob Baker Marionette Theater are here for you. We'll be playing movies for the littles in the MUBI Microcinema all day. Grownups, there will be water, snacks, and a quiet place for you to charge and recharge. We'll also have some goodies for kiddos and caretakers alike. The Bob Baker puppets will be bringing a little love for our littles from 1:30-4:30pm. This program is free to the public, and as our community heals, we will continue to organize days like this.
