“I knew you'd still be here.” Viktor removes his goggles and wipes his forehead with the sleeve of his shirt. Behind him, Jayce struts into the lab, as pristine a Piltovan specimen as ever. His uniform is crisp, his hair is combed and gelled. But small details betray his true state: a strand of hair that breaks free and must be swept back into place, sweat on his temples, and a red color high in his cheeks. When he lands behind Viktor, he brings the aroma of champagne. Something he breathes onto the nape of Viktor's neck. It billows forward, turning what was once a solitary cloud of calm exhalation into a hot team effort. Viktor knows that if he asks, Jayce will take a step away and allow Viktor more room. Am I crowding you again? Sorry. But he also knows that if he says nothing, if he continues his work, that Jayce will stay exactly where he is. They are both each other's specimens. Where Viktor notes Jayce's immaculacy, the ease at which he smiles and schmoozes with the Council, so too does Jayce comment on Viktor's work ethic and brilliancy. You're still here. I could watch you work forever. This night is not special in that regard. They have found themselves like this dozens of times, when Jayce surfaces from Council events lightly buzzed and eager, only to rediscover that yes, Viktor has no friends and nowhere better to be than tinkering with his current Hextech fixation. What distinguishes tonight is Jayce's utter proximity. Viktor estimates a scant half centimeter separates his back side from Jayce's front, not nearly enough free space to prevent the folds of their clothing from intermingling. Jayce's body heat blankets Viktor's spine. In addition to being smelly, his breath is wet. It bogs the soft fuzz on the back of Viktor's neck. Jayce's arm shoots out and he steadies himself on the work desk. “Sorry,” he says with his typical nervous laugh. Meaning this gesture was an accident. He didn't intend to box Viktor in on one side, with his forearm now millimeters from Viktor's left hip. But he doesn't retract his arm. If Viktor listens and propriocepts, he's certain Jayce is nose-breathing at the crown of his head. “I finally got the panelling back from the forge,” Viktor says, politely ignoring whatever inflicts Jayce. “With the appropriate measurements—not like last time. I figured I may as well install them.” “Looks good,” says Jayce. “Ah, yes. I'm inclined to agree.” The work is simple. With shaky hands, he inserts small screws and twists them into the panel, fixing the panel to the body of what will be a Hex-powered bone saw, surgical grade. But it has been a long day for his body. His balance is fading, as is his coordination. He chose to stand when receiving the panels delivered a burst of energy, but now his muscles ache and tremble. His weight vacillates foot to foot. His brow perspires. His cock throbs and his thighs slicken. His body diverts energy required for focus into arousal. As such, the screwdriver drops from his fingers, rattling his pile of screws and loose panels. “Here, let me,” says Jayce. “It's been a long day.” Jayce's right arm confines Viktor's right hip. Puppeted, Viktor's lab partner continues the task of screwing the panels. It's an odd image, as if Viktor had arms chiseled from work in the forge, almost triple in size. To be the Man of Progress—the face of Hextech and a member of the Council of Piltover. Viktor does not envy his partner. He hates social functions, with all their cues and rules that go unspoken. Smiles and alcohol and witticisms parsed out amidst a backdrop of noise—music, chatter, guffaws from all angles. Viktor does not fit in, hunched and withering and soft-spoken, unable to stand long enough for a single sales pitch. It's Jayce who lights up those spaces and secures the success of their joint endeavor, supplying enough personality gold to ensure Viktor hardly ever leaves the lab. He has long since known that his feelings for Jayce, the awe at his capability and finesse, is not a case of envy at all. Viktor desires his partner. He loves the man's physicality, the bulk of him, six foot five, ample-muscled, yet somehow diminutive. He carries himself both proudly and like a puppy whose paws are too big for its body. He stands tall yet shrinks. His easy laughter infects. Viktor, nervous from birth, shaky and oft unstable, is both calmed by Jayce's effortlessly graceful presence, and agitated by it. The agitation comes in fits—on days when Jayce returns to the lab from the forge without showering or donning the proper protective equipment, shirtless or wearing a simple cotton top soaked with sweat. Or there are times when Viktor sets himself up for failure, forgoing masturbation to spend an extra hour in the lab, only to return the next day hyper-sensitive to Jayce's casually initiated touch. The effort zaps his quadriceps and hamstrings, which have begun to quake in protest. Jayce catches Viktor’s waist. “Woah, V. Do you need a break?” The words are warm in Viktor’s ear. Jayce has brought himself closer. There is no gap. A noticeable firmness of flesh digs into Viktor’s low back. “I need—” Your touch. Your cock.
