Across ALL regions, in 2022, 17% of classrooms had buckets to catch leaks, that has risen to 22%.

But it's the North East and Yorkshire where 27% of classrooms have a bucket to catch the leaks, up from 18% in 2022 🪣

What are the rules in schools regarding the concentration items?

Most schools allow fidgets - but only for some students.

76% of primary teachers and 72% of secondary teachers reported they were permitted only for some students.

Australia now bans under-16s from having accounts on Instagram, Facebook, and other social media platforms 📵

Having a classroom full of tech is great... but only if it works! 🖥️

A third of state schools have faulty or broken tech, compared to 24% in private schools

Interactive whiteboards are most often affected (20% state, 14% private), followed by computers (14% state, 9% private) 💨

That confidence gap shows up in actions too.

In theory, 70%+ of teachers say they’d forward an unpleasant message to a colleague but in reality, only 54% did last time. Instead, many replied directly to parents, even when they hadn’t planned to.

Confidence grows with time. Among female teachers, the % who feel completely confident doubles after 5 years, then keeps rising across the career.

For male teachers, confidence almost doubles too: from 22% early career to 42% after 20+ years.

Communications from parents come on a full spectrum - happiness and gratitude, to anger and fury; and confidence handling them varies a lot.

Only 13% of classroom teachers feel “completely confident” when their school has no clear guidance. That rises to 23% where guidance is clear.
