Most schools allow fidgets - but only for some students.

76% of primary teachers and 72% of secondary teachers reported they were permitted only for some students.

Having a classroom full of tech is great... but only if it works! 🖥️

A third of state schools have faulty or broken tech, compared to 24% in private schools

Interactive whiteboards are most often affected (20% state, 14% private), followed by computers (14% state, 9% private) 💨

Half of teachers don’t leave school until after 5pm 🕔

15% manage to leave by 4pm, but the rest stay later (and 10% even arrive more than 2 hours before the bell in the morning!)

Communications from parents come on a full spectrum - happiness and gratitude, to anger and fury; and confidence handling them varies a lot.

Only 13% of classroom teachers feel “completely confident” when their school has no clear guidance. That rises to 23% where guidance is clear.

A tapper got in touch after seeing a TikTok of a teacher using their lunch break to go clothes shopping 👀

They asked: can teachers leave site?

Rules say many can ✅:
73% of primary and 57% of secondary can leave at lunch.

Bans are more common in secondary (21%) than primary (3%).

Did holiday emails affect rest? 🤔

41% of school leaders and 26% of teachers checked emails over the break. Those who did were slightly more likely to feel not at all rested after (8% vs 6%). What teachers did over the first weekend of the New Year mattered too 👀
