The impact of USAID cuts is slowly but surely visible in many countries where we work. For eg: In Gambella, Ethiopia, funding cuts led to the suspension of nutrition services in 4 out of 7 refugee camps, leaving around 80,000 children under the age of 5 at risk of life-threatening malnutrition.
Aid cuts threaten refugee lives in Gambella, Ethiopia | MSF
Significant aid cuts in Ethiopia’s Gambella region are threatening refugee lives, as basic services like food distribution, healthcare, clean water, and disease prevention rapidly deteriorate.

This is theft, plain and simple. They stole this from you. Every deletion, every erasure, every website that goes dark is a crime against the American public
The US Global Change Research Program's website, including all its sub-domains that host the National Climate Assessments and related reports, is now offline.

The 1990 Global Change Research Act (see below) mandates its research findings be available to all federal agencies & departments.

When I ran the TB service in Leeds, my colleagues used to joke that I thought "Everything is Tuberculosis"
Not quite true - but I did encourage them to think of it, as it is easy to miss.
This brilliant book highlights how many in the world don't have access to the resources I had.
As the U.S. Government endeavors to make tuberculosis great again, please consider preordering a signed copy of my book about our deadliest infection, its long history, and why in the 75 years since TB became curable, we've allowed over 150,000,000 people to die of the disease. everythingistb.com

What do foreign aid cuts mean for TB care?

The U.S. has led the fight against TB for decades. Cutting aid now risks millions of lives.

TB is curable. The crisis is political.

When you have the ability to save lives and you withhold it until someone gives you a ridiculous amount of money, the resulting deaths are your choice. You are choosing to watch people die in the name of profit. #PeopleOverProfits, always.

Researchers say a generic version could be made for just $25 per person a year.

From a colleague. Keep calling! It’s working!!!

“We’re hearing that because enough moderate Republicans in the House are telling Speaker Johnson they’re against PEPFAR cuts, the White House is going to amend the package. The pressure is working!!“
The House is voting on the rescissions package THIS THURSDAY.

Congress is considering devastating cuts to global health funding, including to PEPFAR and ‪@unicef.org

Would you spend $20 to save a human life? What about $20 to save thousands of lives? What if I told you that if you pay US taxes, you already *have* paid this $20, but Trump doesn’t want it to be spent saving lives?

That’s exactly what’s happening with these rescissions: youtu.be/oJW2iES4oPw?...
