There’s this comment on TikTok that said how people wanted the aesthetics and cachet of writing but not the work.
There are people who want/need to write and there are people who just want to call themselves writers. The one thing genAI *has* done is made that difference extremely clear.

I'm curious if the pearl clutchers on here carry just as much outrage about the revolutionaries who assassinated oligarchs in tsarist Russia, those that bombed settlers in colonial Algeria, or hell, the Union Army as it burned down the towns and livelihoods of the Confederacy.

Like, yeah, it's disappointing that the suspect in custody is an ideologically inconsistent bro from a very wealthy family. But, if we all put on our nuance hats for a second, it's objectively good that even people from those backgrounds can actually be radicalized.
