- Maduro a ruthless, oppressive dictator that deserves to face justice
- Venezuelans are right to feel joy in this moment
- Trump pardoned an intl drug trafficker he liked 1 month ago
- this is about oil - Trump quite open about this

Moderate but painted as Marxist.
Articulate and across the brief.
Broadly liked by their constituents.
Delivers results in their portfolio(s).
Can't breathe without copping the white hot rage of Sky News.
Doesn't care.
Enjoys it, even.

I'm a centre-left social democrat who simply believes in public education and universal healthcare in a mixed-market economy. Yet the kleptocracy are wasting no time labelling us as basically terrorists. If you don't tell your story, someone else will. Speak up for yourself.

Sorry I missed the part where it was 'Australian values' to look away from crimes against humanity and let war criminals get away with it.

"They tried to divide the Australian community in the election campaign, and they ended up dividing themselves. And the consequence of that is that the Liberal Party is now barely bigger than the crossbench in the parliament."

Chalmers did not miss historic moment to take revenge on 'smoking ruin'
Treasurer Jim Chalmers held a press conference last week that will enter Australian political folklore, announcing major twin victories: one economic, one political.

Peter Dutton and the LNP will fire 30,000 public servants then contract out the same amount for the same work and charge the Australia taxpayer double for the privilege - just like what they did last time.

Total crock. The dissolutionment is from media establishment types like Keane who peddle the uniparty lie while omitting any consideration to how tax cuts, free TAFE, HECS changes, Medicare, domestic manufacturing etc make a tangible difference to people's lives.
Opinion | Disillusionment is the only logical reaction to the terrible state of major party politics in Australia and the awful choice they'll present at the election, @keanebernard.bsky.social writes.
How did we wind up with duds like Albanese and Dutton?

The right love to highlight legal loopholes to say why things need to get tougher. But when they win, due to arrogance or incompetence, they do absolutely nothing and bitch about people standing up for themselves. People aren't breaking the law, they're defending their rights.
Yes, this administration is dangerous and cruel, but they are also shockingly dim and incompetent.

Opportunities are everywhere.

Make everything as hard as possible. Resist every demand. Refuse entry without a warrant. Don’t take the buyout. Their problem solving skills are 📉

The best thing about the Greens getting elected is that they get to show us who they really stand with when push comes to shove on housing. Not people that are actually looking for homes, but the crusty old NIMBYs that care about the "charm" of decripit shit buildings not even heritage listers touch

Education. Education. Education. The great equaliser. Not by bringing some down, but lifting everyone up. It not only changes lives but transforms nations. Let's seize the opportunity this election to fully fund public schools. #auspol

"What’s happening here is the creeping oligarchy of companies and capital aligning around an authoritarian president, with everyone fully aware that sucking up to him personally, ideally along with staggering sums of cash, is the only way to evade scrutiny."

One hill I’ll die on is that humanity, at its core, has more good than bad. Recognizing that isn’t downplaying the bad; it’s about acknowledging our immense capacity for good. The entire arc of human progress, including democracy, rests on this belief. Now more than ever, let’s not lose sight of it.

This is really good. A lot of you will be looking for something tangible you can do to protect those who are targeted by state kidnappers. I really like the idea of neighborhood ICE watches.
