Blogging and commenting about beer for quite a while.
Just read @petebrownbeer.bsky.social column in the Sunday Times. I've been saying this - not as articulately or persuasively admittedly - for years. Hazy is lazy is my summation. Nice one Pete.

Want to see AI in beery action? Watch this shite about Youngers Tartan Special. Photo is a fine example. Guess where it wasn't brewed? And it wasn't a lager ffs.

I see Molson Coors is offering us Caffreys Black Stout. 3. 4% of course. We shall see, but I have my doubts about it's quality.

Mixed bag in Manchester yesterday. Beer of the day was Fullers/Thorn bridge ESB Beermoth. Brewed in the Burton Union set, this was lush in every way. Close second in terms of presentation and taste was Adams Ghost Ship, but the overall complexity of the ESB swung it for them.

Does anyone know how the Women in Beer Awards are judged?

The Shipwright's Arms. Inside this abomination of a glass is Southwark LPA which is thin and weedy. GBG? Well it is a fab boozer, but no way in my book. Two Sharps beers and this very poor beer.

Not sure where I saw it, but love the story of the cat, missing for 14 days, that just strolled back home and basically said " I'm back. Where's my dinner?"

Off to judge beer at SIBA North West in Bolton. A bus and two trains. Dedicated me.

E won the keyring at our CAMRA 50th Anniversary Quiz in Rochdale, while I had to "suffer" the official launch of Cask Boddingtons in Founders Hall in Manchester. Both had a great time though.

Up early. More Beer issue 72 final proof reading and corrections done by half seven. Now drinking tea. Will check my email to publisher once more, then shower before collecting and delivering Sunday newspapers to elderly neighbours. Then make brekkie. I'll need the Tavern later.

I'm about to nip down to JW Lees Brewery for a CAMRA North West tasting of JW Lees brewed Boddingtons Bitter! Should be interesting.
