Irakli Gharibashvili was sentenced to 5 years in prison and fined 1 million GEL, and was arrested in the courtroom. Gharibashvili served twice as Prime Minister of Georgia, was also Minister of Defense, and for years was a close confidant of Bidzina Ivanishvili.

There was a post saying that, according to the latest information, around 2,000 Iranian protesters have been killed. In the comments, GD troll accounts wrote that Georgian protesters deserve the same.
Troll accounts affiliated with GD are posting about Iran in Facebook comments, arguing that when protests become ‘destructive,’ the gov't is right to suppress them. They call Iranian protesters ‘Akatsuki,’ just as GD calls Georgian protesters. Therefore, GD is siding with the current Iranian regime.

It’s been a year since Mzia was arrested. I worked through the night. Everything that happened that night was crazy. I never imagined it would last this long though.
It has been a year since Mzia Amaghlobeli was arrested. This is footage of her first arrest. She was briefly released afterward, and soon after that came the slap and her arrest under the criminal code. For placing a sticker on a wall for a few seconds, she was fined about $700.

Crazy story coming in - Ukraine duped Russia after faking the death of Denis Kapustin, head of the Russian Volunteer Corps

Kapustin is alive, as shown in a Ukraine Intel video, as they took Russia's $500,000 reward for his death, and kept him safe all along. Genius Budanov!

It will likely be very difficult for Tamara to leave Akhalgori and Tskhinvali, but for now, her freedom is the most important thing.
Journalist and activist Tamar Mearakishvili, who was detained in occupied Tskhinvali, has been released and is currently in territory controlled by Georgia.

This is what Russia is - disgusting.
Deliberately bombing a theatre with a "children" sign in front, murdering hundreds of people inside, literally celebrating on their graves afterwards, and then blaming it on the victims is a typically russian thing to do.

This post desperately requires a community note.

In Sept 2021, someone leaked the “SSG files”, thousands of recordings revealing total surveillance of clergy, down to trivial conversations and private lives. I appeared twice, simply for calling bishops as a journalist. The SSG chief at the time was Grigol Liluashvili, now arrested for bribery.
He was once a powerful man. Now he has been arrested by the regime, much like during the era of Stalin.
The Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia has arrested Grigol Liluashvili, the former head of the State Security Service of Georgia, on charges of bribery.
