I've been begging for Wilds discourse to move onto more substantive things than PC performance, but now I've seen that end of the community and how they ravage each other with their reductionist takes on each other's arguments, I think it may be best if MH is enjoyed purely in silence.

Omega's a right bastard, but at least it's a fight where it does things. At first I was pretty pessimistic, given the last FFXIV crossover, but then I remembered Behemoth was just him standing around not being animated. Omega, you know, fights you, so that's a start.

Playing Monster Hunter Wilds has got me really wanting to talk about the politics of MH, but wokespotters are kinda pissing in the pool currently. Maybe when the next big game comes out we can start a mature discussion about white saviours and soft colonialism.

So I had this idea for a MH-like set in an urban locale with a neon artstyle, with beasts shrouded in mystery and the player working directly under a shady authoritarian institution that definitely has ulterior motives in some regard. Then I played God Eater.

I'm very torn. On the one hand, yes there should be a "best expansion" category. On the other, imagine if MH4U got put up for GotY when it came out. Sure Elden Ring already won, but SotE could be seen as the complete version of the game, like what G expansions are to Monster Hunter games.
