"Starting masking again in 2025 means I – we – have to confront the fact that maybe we should never have stopped. It’s scary to admit that we might have been harming ourselves and our communities; that our government might not have our best interests at heart." @onqueerstreet.bsky.social

I have bad at math disease, so it’s hard for me to convert fahrenheit to celsius in my head.

how do I cope? simple: I know 69f is 21c, and I extrapolate from there.

a toy toad with a red and white circle on his hat is standing on a wooden floor .
Alt: toad from mario doing a little dance with his arms going up and down because it’s actually a person in a costume so they can’t really do that many dance moves

pre-writing a devastating obituary for your enemy is god-tier hating of a kind you don’t often see anymore. renaissance haterism. beautiful stuff.
A Sharon Begley byline, almost 5 years after her death.

Upon hearing the news James Watson had died, a STAT reporter said in our Slack, "I wish I could read what Sharon would have written."

Incredible news: Sharon in fact did pre-write a Watson obit. And it is masterful and excoriating.

I just finished this one. Extremely fun and creepy, with characters I was actually concerned for, which is rare (for me) in a low-budget found footage flick. The effects don’t overstay their welcome for the most part.
It’s maybe not one I’ll rewatch within the year, but I’m still glad I watched it.
You should watch Jay Dahl’s THERE ARE MONSTERS (2013), in which some graduate students making a film discover a quiet, insidious apocalypse happening all around them. Invasion Of The Body Snatchers by way of Unedited Footage Of A Bear / This House Has People In It. Feels evil.
