Last of our new board games of the festive season today! Escape the Dark Castle. Enjoyed it immensely. Easy to pick up and play, but difficult enough to not win every time. A good little co-op adventure.

Been staying with family for five days. Today, we came home. I have my new slippers on, a cup of tea, and I am watching Christmas Bake Off. I am so very, very happy to be home ❤️🎄

Hey #booksky - I’ve seen a few different posts asking for book recs from this year, so instead of replying individually, here’s the book which blew me away this year! Glorious Exploits by Ferdia Lennon! Absolute class, funny, heartfelt, well written. Recommend it any day of the week.

We are mid-second-Christmas at the in-laws. Actually slightly concerned that the level of eating and drinking I’ve managed to maintain for the last four days may kill me before new year. Will it stop me? Absolutely not.

Went to the local community market today and got some gorgeous hand made pottery for the last of our Christmas presents. Really reasonable, absolutely gorgeous ❤️

I’ve never seen 28 Days Later, but I happened to catch the 28 Years Later trailer and now I cannot help wonder why in the name of ever loving anything did we not do Boots by Kipling at school when studying war poetry? Phenomenal.

For a couple of days, I thought I had a paper cut. Today I think it’s a splinter. Can’t get it out. Have turned into my grandma and made a paste of baking powder and water, slapped it on and put a plaster over it to “draw it out”. Feel like a woman from 17th century accused of being a witch.

My mum has two Coalport Paddington figurines (artist and magician) and I thought it would be quite easy to get another from the set second hand for Christmas. Turns out they’re quite tricky to get hold of!

Earlier in the month, I emailed a publishers to see if they could send me some promo bookmarks for any of their books so that I could give them away in the school library. They’ve sent me bookmarks AND some surplus stock! Book people are the best 🥹❤️
