Human populations are exploding. We've added 800M new humans since Paris 2015. 10% more humans in 10 years. Children now.

We lose min 6% of insect biomass in protected nature reserves. 50% of global biomass loss in 10 years. The stuff on the right disappears faster than our populations & GDPs grow.

Nature has not evolved brains that can process such rapid changes since what we see since 1970 is unique and unchartered. Not in 600 (not 60) million years has anything come close to the speed of change. Human children now grow up slower than nature collapses globally.

More people, more cars, more freeways, more asphalt & concrete, more emissions
... less #wildlife.
This project must be stopped. The OTC has been possessed by the ghost of Robert Moses and can't stop themselves. An intervention is desperately needed. Once they are freed to attend to neglected projects, they will be happier and billions will go to better uses.
ACTION ALERT!

The Oregon Transportation Commission votes Thursday to consider pausing the $2,000,000,000+ proposal to double the width and number of freeway lanes for the Rose Quarter Freeway.

Join No More Freeways in demanding OTC direct ODOT to pause the expansion:

“Doomer” is just an ad hominem label for someone who understands our multi-faceted predicament can’t be solved by “green capitalism”, & in fact that will make it worse. For instance mining for critical minerals (diesel) will need to increase 16x and that will inevitably destroy more of the biosphere

When your economy over-relies on an #immigration fed housing construction industry, the population must keep growing at a faster rate.

Why? because you not only need jobs for the last intake, but you must create jobs for the new arrivals.

This ends in disaster!
