I am so grateful that I live in New Mexico. We may not be rich. We may not be fancy. But, on the whole, we care about each other and treasure our cultural variety. That free childcare thing is awesome too. Love each other. We're all we got.

When my girls were toddlers, telling them that bedtime was 7 but not making them go to bed at 7 taught them that they should test ALL the rules. If we make a rule, we need to be very careful and keep it. We know better than to make commitments we won't, or can't, keep. Right?

If someone falls and we offer a hand to lift them up, but we don't check to make sure they're healthy enough to keep walking we did nothing to help them. We simply changed their location. A starving person doesn't become well-fed with one meal. A poor person isn't newly rich with 1000$ on their EBT.
