it does make me wonder if we're going to just be alternating between general and partner directs going forward. last one was a general, and before that was a partner, and before that was the NS2 direct, and before that a general.

We're at a weird spot where I can see the next direct being simultaneously a partner showcase but also a regular direct.
At the very least, they've feasibly filled their schedule until May (presumed release for Yoshi's spring release) and FE/Splatoon could fill in the June slot announced randomly.
