R.I.P. Rebecca Heineman (1963-2025). One of the industry figures I looked up to the most. From the crazy development stories behind her famous ports, to her advocacy, fan-made efforts and her own original work, she was a legend and a legend she shall remain. Her perseverance will be remembered.

Gonna do a 5th gen console stream tomorrow. At the very least, it will consist of PS1, N64, Saturn, and maybe even a little 3DO. I'd do Jaguar too if I could find a way for me to capture its RF signal using what I have but I wouldn't count on that.

The demands for exceptionalism in all areas of development in solo dev indie work has really turbo charged my perfectionism and has been contributing greatly to my autistic burnout.
I wanna be able to keep making videos and games, but I also need to take it way easier on myself for my own health.

Doing an "Ace Mode" run of Rogue Squadron III and am loving how insanely hard the last section of Battlefield Hoth is under those conditions.

Something I love about older games is looking at them and trying to discern what movies the devs watched while making the game. It's something I wish we got to see more of, and I'm kinda shocked when I talk to other indie devs and they tell me "I don't really care about movies".

The video finally rendered CORRECTLY. Uploading it to Patreon now. Might take a while (it's nearly 10 GB) but at least I don't have to wait another six hours waiting for a hopefully functional video file again.

This video is killing me. I just spent the past 6.5 hours rendering this thing and it can't even play to the ending. The correct length is listed. It just STOPS well before it gets there. Oh well I'll just have to try later. Here we go again!!

Jack Razor 2 is a solo developed 2D Collectathon inspired by Amiga platformers like Turrican and Early 3D games like Super Mario 64 with hints of tons of others.

My next video is close to being done. It's just a matter of finishing one animated section and finding the time to render it (which considering the length is my primary concern). It'll be up for patrons first and on YouTube a couple of days after.

100% Completed Pac-Man World 2 Repac for the second time today. Went a lot more smoothly this time. Word of advice: make sure the way you're playing it minimizes input lag as much as humanly possible. Learned that one the hard way.
Still though, fantastic game. Highly recommended.

I edited around 20 minutes of the next video in the past day or so. Only about 10 minutes to go. I'm rendering what I did today and putting it up on patreon. Between the first 51 minutes and now this, we're getting closer. Hopefully I'll finish the next couple of short animated sequences tomorrow.

I spend a year working on a video in what time I've had between jobs and working on Jack Razor 2 only to find my YouTube channel stripped of monetization because I fell below their metrics.
Sucks, but it's still more sustainable revenue than making games... yikes, that's horrifying in its own right.

I'm not going to lie the past couple of months have been really hard for me, and it just seems to be getting harder. I'm hoping to finish the video I'm working on soon and I'm hoping to make progress on Jack Razor 2, but looking for more work takes priority. It just sucks how hard that is now.

Playing through Lair again because I need footage for a video and man does the Firestorm mission hit hard. The track that plays when you bomb "the armory" and on the results screen is absolutely haunting. That crescendo and melody at 1:30 is such a beautiful gut-punch
