I live thousands of miles away from the US and I’ve read more books on American history and society than most people I know. I’m afraid my tragic conclusion is that the US will never elect a woman as president for another 100 years at least.

Whenever I switch on a TV and see live images of people dead or being killed in conflict, I long for the days when the goriest thing you ever saw on a screen was Sylvester Stallone stitching up his own arm after falling through trees in Rambo. How desensitised we have become to on screen violence 😥
