So Stubai has just quietly released another instrumental track yesterday and I suppose it’s my duty as a reluctant PR/marketing drone to tell you about it. As you were. open.spotify.com/track/2JmI95...

Stoked to find Stubai’s “Golden Hour” sandwiched between Mogwai and Andy Bell of Ride, trip hop Diva Dot Allison and Michael Rother of Neu on @purplemac.bsky.social’s awesome New Indie Music playlist! 🙏🙌❤️ #indiemusic

Excited for Stubai’s first appearance in a real-life, real-world fanzine! #fanzine #dreampop
The Assistant fanzine, IN THE APRIL SUN, is now final & going off to press imminently. It was 44 pages when I put it on sale; it's now 52. Still £4, still worth every penny. Thanks for ordering, thanks for sharing! x x x

The new Bob Dylan biopic “A Complete Unknown” is getting plenty of hype, so here’s my pick of 5 albums by obscure artists that I’ve had on repeat this year. 👇🧵

Listen to @assistantband.bsky.social - they know what time it is!
Overfamiliarity-disorder is the fever that arrives once you've mixed your LP & suddenly wish you'd impulsively deleted a crucial element, like the vocals. A form of madness. Look: @stubaimusic.bsky.social has done it here, for #BandcampFriday. Except it works! Ace

Out today: an instrumental version of Stubai’s debut album “We Were Here”, exclusively on Bandcamp.

Instrumentals are awesome. With the vocals gone, you get to hear the bones of the tune – the bassline, the drum fills, the little sonic flourishes and decorative touches.

Thanks so much for the kind (and so beautifully written) words @assistantband.bsky.social
I recently reviewed one of the best records I’ve heard in ages; Stubai’s amazing We Were Here - for the ace @filip.start-track.com blog. Brilliant, thoughtful, oddly Zen Australian indie rock. It’s delightful.
