If your novel takes place local to where the author lives, it is much more likely to have authentic details and settings well flushed out. The writer was writing what they know. You may think your location is boring but that's simply not true. Readers travel in your mind.

I have a #writing question. When do you know it’s time to give up or step back from a WIP? I have one I started about a decade ago that I periodically return to. But I don’t feel like it’s relevant anymore. Plus I don’t have the same drive to write it like I used to either. Thoughts?
