Hey, I made it to the skies! I make RPGs (mostly indie, you may have heard of a few) and talk about nerdy media. I like dice, probability, and drinking tea!

Last Night's Spell and Blade playtest:
The party comes back together after a half year apart. They are called together by the cursetouched hunter, who is asking them to help her investigate some Ancient ruins she knows about from her days as a bandit.

My cats have a meaow that means "something is wrong, please fix". Usually this leads to an empty bowl, or a toy stuck somewhere, or a door closed when it shouldn't be. They're also very routine driven. Today, one of them made the meaow and led me to a sun spot.

Did you know that you can fit ~40 standard sized playing cards, five dice, and a rules sheet printed on the back of a J-card inside a cassette case without posts? Do something with this knowledge.

I realized a while ago, that I can only personally "play to find out" (aka 'Choose your Bruce Willis' as it's put in this thread) for the most part. The games where I know the ending give me this urge to say "ok let's assume we're there now, because we will be, so what happens next?"
I love to play games like this, personally. Part of the fun for me is not knowing whether I'll triumph or fall.
I also love to play games where I do know, and we play to find out how it happens and what comes of it.

Reminder Superman is not a power fantasy, he's an altruism fantasy.
The idea of someone with godlike powers using them solely for good (with an antagonist who is a billionaire, who by definition do the opposite) was dreamt up by Jewish kids in the 30s and its just as if not more relevant now.

Reminder that telling a designer a story of what happened when you ran their adventure is better than almost anything else you can do for them (apart from recommending the adventure to a friend). Just got a story in the comments on Itch for an adventure and it absolutely made my day.

Ok. Can we take just a minute to talk about how awesome X-Men '97 is? This show is INCREDIBLY good and it does something that I haven't seen often. In the midst of 100 reboots, rewrites, and restarts it boldly just continues the original series while updating things for modern audiences.

Sometimes writing GM rules can be super tricky.
For context I'm working on Spell and Blade (Folk Fantasy FitD aimed at longer term play).
One of the bigger elements of it is the concept of Encounters. Going on adventures means traveling through the world and exploring.
