As a young person with a punk/goth look in Baton Rouge in the 90s, I was once harassed in a parking lot by someone in a pickup truck yelling, “Keep on rocking in the free world” at me. Still one of my favorite things to ever happen to me.

My dream of a Wooden Wand cover of “Feel My Heat” from Boogie Nights has been shattered.

Congratulations on helping legitimize the most cruel voices as legitimate parts of the discourse because you shared their disdain for trans people, sex workers, and a broad swath of left activists in general.

Did you miss the massive No Kings marches? There is no shortage of people who are angry and mobilized. All of the capitulation has been institutional.

Saw it in the theater in DC with a bunch of very skeptical punks expecting to mock it and we were entirely won over.

Going to just take this as a victory for practical effects over CGI and AI slop.

Though sometimes I miss something because I am too focused on trying to make out what books are on the shelves.

I remember cracking up in the theater when Al Pacino beat up Henry Rollins because it was the peak of the body builder constant MTV presence Rollins.

His memoir is worth reading. He writes about the experimental underground and pop music in exactly the same way as if he really doesn’t see a distinction, he just likes what he likes. It makes perfect sense when you listen to Soft Cell.

I would watch the Rat Wars streaming series.

Truly a scene that is culturally fascinating and does nothing for me musically.
