Today I learned that this 1837 photo by Louis Daguerre is actually a photo of a busy street. But because the exposure time is so long, everything that is moving disappears and only what is still can be seen. This is unspeakably beautiful. #photography

There are still a few Voyager episodes I don't think I've seen since the '90s. Today I watched "Darkling." It's an absolutely wonderful Kes episode which is hijacked halfway through by a truly horrible Doctor episode. So much more disappointing than if it had been bad all the way through.

I just watched the final episodes of #StarTrek Prodigy with @teresajusino.bsky.social. I've been making her watch it little by little for about 6 months. (And this was actually my first time watching these episodes in English.)

Starfleet Academy must be really bad if time travelers are coming to warn us.

I just saw Knives Out 3: Wake Up Dead Man and it is fabulous. In addition to being a excellent whodunit, it's a fascinating meditation on the true purpose of religion.

I love a good suspense movie, and Wait Until Dark (1967) really delivered. It is about a psychopath (Alan Arkin) and two con men who are trying for find some lost drugs that have fallen into possession of a blind woman (Audrey Hepburn). She slowly becomes aware and turns the tables.
