Thorn came out of the soil and was absolutely covered in it. He looked extremely self satisfied, so I assume the digging went well.

I'm really happy with this one. Chery Blossom Path, miniature #watercolor painting. I changed up how I photograph them too, and I think that worked out well.
Miniature watercolor, bright pink cherry blossom trees line a path, during golden hour with the sun shining directly from the left of the view. Cool shadows contrast the golden highlights. The path goes straight into the distance of the painting.

All parts of White clover (Trifolium repens) are edible: its leaves are best blanched, soaked in salt water, or cooked. Young flowers can be eaten raw in salads, cooked, dried for tea, or ground into flour. The cooked root is also edible.

I like painting the insects realistically in watercolor to contrast with the ink and watercolored plants.

May 10, 2021, Nachusa Grasslands, Stone Barn Savannah, 57 degrees, sunny and still, saw a large Black and Gold bumblebee zooming thru the lupines. Sketch of 3 purple-magenta lupine flower stalks with 3 leaves. Two of the flower stalks and one of the leaves are painted, the others are just ink outlines. To the right is a Wild Hyacinth stalk, painted, with inked leaves and a realistic Bombus fervidus feeding on it. Below the lupines is a branch of Jacob's ladder flowers- light blue with magenta sepals, magenta stem and light green leaves. A head-on view of one flower is to the left. Notes-Saw small bumblebee gathering pollen. May 11, 2021 Schulenberg Prairie, 54 degrees, sun with clouds, breezy. To the left of the hyacinth- May 16, 2021, Schulenberg Prairie, 72 degrees, cloudy with breaks of sun, saw 3 different Bombus-impatiens, bimaculatus (on shooting stars), fervidus (on hyacinth) May 18, 70 degrees, cloudy and breezy, small bumblebee fed on white blue-eyed grass.
