It'll only poison you if you pick it at the wrong time and don't cook it. Otherwise it is healthy when eaten in moderation. Thank you 😊

Leaves need to be cooked to negate toxins, but otherwise are nutritious when eaten in moderation. Leaves can be used as a potherb, in soups, tea and are often paired with beans to reduce flatulence. Seeds can be eaten, but should be soaked in water for a day and rinsed well to remove toxins cooking.

Consuming large amounts of Wormseed (Dysphania ambrosioides), post flowering, can cause painful infectious diarrhea and vomiting, and as such it should only be harvested before it produces flowers and seeds.

Of course. Green capitalism still requires the exploitation of land and people to be extract profit. As such, capitalism will never enable solutions to the climate crisis, and certainly not ones which are just and equitable.

Winged Yam has relatively high levels of oxalates, which contribute to the growth of kidney stones, as well as saponins, but these are broken down by cooking.

Winged yam (Dioscorea alata) has aerial tubers which must be cooked well in order to destroy any toxins in them - they can be baked, boiled or fried. Its roots can also be cooked and eaten, and are generally bigger than its aerial tubers.
