I think there's part of it that's just, unfortunately, gender based, but the reality is that anyone who filled that role (IMO) would have gotten the same hate. These fans want Star Wars to be what it was, and it will NEVER be that, no matter who's in charge. Those first 3 were lightning in a bottle

I dunno guys… if I was a passenger in a bus and the driver was smashing into cars and running people over I wouldn’t wait for them to stop driving before grabbing the wheel.

I was surprised at how much I liked him being a giant a hole in this 😆. I agree, definitely one of his best, though I’m still slowly working through the stuff I haven’t seen.

I really hope @criterionchannl.bsky.social or @kinolorber.com or somebody puts out a really nice blu ray of Girl With Hyacinths. Fantastic film.

The more I read (and reread) old sci-fi books the more true this seems.

Posting two pics, because there's been a lot of watching this week, mainly trying to finish up some 2025 films before the end of the year. Marty Supreme ended up being one of my favorites of the year.

I feel the same. It was a mixed bag, but the finale was solid.

100% agree, and I’m curious where they’ll take it if the franchise continues.

This and Jake Paul getting a "double broken jaw" feel like early Christmas presents.

Also, A Few Good Men and William Friedkin's last film, The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial, would make a great double feature.

This week has been mostly Rob Reiner (either new to me or rewatches), and a documentary about the most infamous film George Romero never made.

IMO, the original Spinal Tap and the new Spinal Tap make a GREAT double feature.

I hate the fact that I can read something like this and be 99% sure I know exactly who you're talking about.

This week was three new releases (all of which are on my favorites of 2025 list) and one of my favorite films of all time in the best way you can watch it - all together and on a big screen.

You know it’s a dystopia when Netflix can acquire Warner Bros, likely doing massive harm to cinema as an art form, and your first reaction is “shit at least David Ellison didn’t get his oddly damp hands on Bugs Bunny”
