Lord Derby cooking apple. Raised in Stockport, 1862. Productive and trouble free in my experience.

My social media feeds keep suggesting music that reminds me of former American politicians who've embraced environmental activism. Weird, must be the Al Gore rhythm.

'Scrumptious', a modern variety bred in the 1980s with Golden Delicious, Worcester Pearmain and Discovery in its ancestry. Lives up to its name.

Tebbit's dead. Mourners are requested to get on a bike and cycle to the funeral. It's what the twat would have wanted.

Been reading the paper since the 1970s but, fuck me @theguardian.com, you do test the patience of this irritable boomer. Detailed article about the genius of Brian Wilson but you don't know what he used to look like? He is not, despite what the caption may state, the one on the left in the photo.

Well I never thought Bruce Springsteen and Stephen Graham would turn up in the next village to me (at Norman's restaurant in Kirkburton). *Not my photo.

Wonderful @johnshuttleworth.bsky.social gig at Sheffield City Hall last night. A mate tells me that one of his Sheffield friends was at school with GF and remembered he was fond of mice. Checked and he used to exhibit them and even wrote a song about fancy mice. This is very pleasing. Excellent.

Liverpool's Grown-Up Strange were a group that fascinated me long after the one single they released in 1986. Six years later, I had a chance meeting with their singer. I wish I'd had the presence of mind to ask if there was a whole album where that single came from. www.patreon.com/posts/ultrav...

Good job they didn't have social media In Victorian England. Can you imagine the filth on Charles Dickens timeline when the wags discover his sister was called Fanny Dickens and she lived in Ardwick?
