Long suffering Spurs fan Block 251. Tecky, swimmer, fair weather cyclist, hill walker and runner. You may find the odd bit of music going on here!
If you bat like it’s a Sunday afternoon 20 over beer match in an Ashes test match, then it doesn’t matter how good your bowlers are.

Set my alarm for 5:30 to catch a fair bit of the test match before work. What a shambles.

UK and Norway won nature's lottery in 1970 - found oil/gas in the North Sea.

UK squandered wealth, appeased corporations.

Norway levied 78% tax, took direct stake in companies.

Norway now has $1.8 trillion sovereign fund. UK has public finance crisis.

UK Govts still appeasing corporations/rich.
How sparsely populated Norway amassed $1.8 trillion | Fortune Europe
Launched in the early 1990s to invest mostly in bonds, the fund has grown to become the largest of its kind by acquiring small equity stakes in thousands of companies across the world.

I met Tony Galvin at an event to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the 84 UEFA Cup win a while back. A genuinely engaging and very funny speaker. He was also a vital part of the Burkinshaw team I used to enjoy watching a lot more than the current mob. Got well soon Tony.

Zero tolerance for anybody who can’t see that Harry Kane is simply the best striker (& no 10) of his generation. Caneldo would have 2-3 Ballon Dors to his name

No problems avoiding the freezing cold, tasteless, fizzy pop our convict friends down under laughingly call beer, but abstaining from Aussie wine for the duration of the Ashes may be a challenge. ‎<This message was edited>

Imagine you were on the beach at Hastings in 1066, and saw that fateful arrow fly into Harald’s eye.

You turn to Guillaume the Conqueror and give him $2.5 MILLION. His eyes bug out.

You pile up an extra $2.5 million Every Single Day since then.

You still don’t have a trillion dollars.

Homo Sapiens emerged about 300,000 years ago.

Imagine you gave an early Sapiens $9,000. And they looked at you and said “the fuck is this?”

But anyway, you piled up $9,000 Every Single Day since the first Sapiens walked the Earth.

You still wouldn’t have a trillion dollars.

Capitalism is fucked

It looks like my question to Vinai at the Fans Forum has hit the spot @abysstalks.bsky.social
Tottenham reduce Champions League ticket prices to combat empty seats
Spurs’ two home games in Europe this season have seen thousands stay away

The cheapest seats in the South Stand would therefore have cost £77 and risen to £94 on top of what many fans already pay for their season tickets.

Still not stopped at the new station near Chelmsford that cost £M+++ and has caused endless rail bus replacements over the last couple of years

I don’t get the faux outrage about lack of football on Boxing Day. I HATE Boxing Day football. As somebody who actually goes to the match rather than sitting on my arse watching the telly, I know just what a challenge travelling to a match on Boxing Day is. Good riddance.

This summer Bruce donated his entire $12.9m tour bonus & sponsorship deal
to build homeless centres in New Jersey.

He said his music has always been about working people who’ve been left behind and he wanted to take action ❤️

I’m loving Riot Women. I’ve had many beers in the Duke where much of it is filmed. One of the best things about Burnley being back in the Premier League is it gives me an excuse for a weekend in Hebden Bridge.

In the run up to that equaliser we must have made 6-7 very good tackles only to fail to follow up and promptly give the ball away again. Can nobody in this team pass the ball?

So does anybody know WHY Northumberland Park is shut today? I currently on a train from Stratford to Tottenham Hale whose final destination is Meridian Water - the stop after NP. So there is nothing wrong with the line?
