In 2022, inspectors described a “cascade of failure” at one foreign factory.

The FDA barred it from shipping drugs to the U.S. — then excused more than 20 drugs from the ban, despite risks to consumers.
Threat in Your Medicine Cabinet: The FDA’s Gamble on America’s Drugs
A ProPublica investigation found that for more than a decade, the FDA gave substandard factories banned from the United States a special pass to keep sending drugs to an unsuspecting public.

Wishing I could block news outlets with paywalls that I haven’t paid to have removed from spamming their headlines across my news feeds. I learn (mostly), but still irritating.

I know. This is what you get when you are the real commodity being sold.

Sick of getting spam from AARP. Don’t need a lobby machine posing as an advocate for seniors, bent on making sure those over 50 get more. I think it’s clear that the right folks to set things right for are our kids and grandkids (and immigrants, & those who are still working well into their 60/70s)

This is, without hyperbole, the same shit fascist Italy and Nazi Germany pushed. The "enemy within." It historically is used to justify mass violence.
Trump in Aurora: "The enemy from within. All the scum that we have to deal with that hate our country. That's a bigger enemy than China and Russia."

For the record, Project 2025, the blueprint for the incoming Trump administration, would privatize the National Weather Service, disband oceanic research (too climate "alarmist") and dismantle NOAA, which is the primary source of hurricane info. static.project2025.org/2025_Mandate...

Delta Airlines. what a pathetic show of customer service. you would think at some point they would realize that the words they say .. “we know you have a choice in who you choose” are actually true, and that they are steadily building a contingent that won’t again #airline #travel #nightmare

has been worth it to us for many reasons. not least is ability to wake up when we wake up and watch the 1am race like it was happening live
F1TV is like $85/yr, you get all the races, interviews, misc content, plus all the archives. Previously, I spent $40/mo for sling/espn and the service was awful.

installed solar a couple years ago, and only found just prior to initial power up (my fault, I guess … surely they made this clear when making the sale) that if the grid lost power, I wasn’t able to use any of the power being generated on my roof.
there's something uniquely american about being energy independent— about living off the grid, free from utility corporations.

but now, the policy that helped many do that has become controversial.

as @chrisbaraniuk.com writes for Atmos, the battle for the future of U.S. energy is underway. 🧪🌎
A Battle for Solar Power in the Land of the Free
A growing number of U.S. families want to install off-grid rooftop solar panels but the financial incentives designed to encourage them have become controversial.
