This is the world’s finest thread. Not just for the jokes but for the heroic persistence on display. Especially those who continue to make the same jokes even when they’re on their own.
Just thinking about dad jokes I’ve made which have annoyed/embarrassed my children. For example in a restaurant I ordered a coke. The waitress asked if I wanted a pint or a half. I said “Better make it a half, I’m driving”. No one laughed, apart from me.

Delighted to read that in France in the early 1900s the accepted level for men drinking in moderation was 'no more than four litres (of wine) a day'. Always liked the French.
