Hi- could anyone point me towards someone who produced a month teaching learning booklet for colleagues? Recent research, articles, science of learning, direct instruction, retrieval practice…. Something like that. Interested in launching our own and could do with some advice. Thanks

Surprised I don’t have this considering how much red wine was consumed last night
Word of the Day, should you need it, is ‘crapulence’ (18th century): sickness or indisposition resulting from excessive drinking or eating.

I have a student doing this for their A2 coursework text. It is excellent. Lots to think and write about. Highly recommend for coursework/ NEA.
Claire Keegan’s Small Things Like These is Ireland’s bestselling book of 2024. Colm Tóibín, Johnny Sexton, Sally Rooney and Graham Norton also feature in the top five. It’s been a phenomenal year for Andrea Mara too in Ireland and Britain

A lot of discussion lately about the reasons for the decline of Eng Lit A-level.

Are the Gove curriculum & exam reforms to blame?

I don't think so, because the decline of Eng Lit / the humanities more broadly is a global trend.

More here.

What is the cause, is it a problem - and if so, what can we do about it?

Word of the Day is a true favourite, as some of you will know.

Apricity (17th century) is the warmth of the sun on a winter’s day.

I am so proud of all my students today. Some of them have had an incredibly difficult couple of years and their achievements today are a testament to their resilience and character 💚💚
